At Lampitt Rail Services, we do a lot of work on standard gauge track, but did you know that we can work on any gauge?

We offer many services (on all gauge track types), including:
• Track inspections
• Track maintenance
• Track renewals
• Supply of materials
• Removal of track
• Project management
• Film/TV work

We also offer engineering services, including:
• Steam engine maintenance and repair
• Locomotive maintenance and repair
• Model engineering maintenance and repair

We always aim to use recycled materials where possible, when doing our trackwork.

In addition to all of that, we hire out our plant at competitive rates. Plant includes:
RRV Komatsu PW130ES-6K
Hitachi 135 Civils Machine
RRV Dumper

This year has been another busy one but we've been unable to post many pictures and updates this year, due to working for a client with strict social media rules.
However, the last job of the year was for Ashcourt Group, undertaking a 400m relay and re-timbering four turnouts in readiness for aggregate trains.
We have had a great year and wish everyone and all our customers a Happy New Year!! All the best for 2026 🎆

We've been busy for the last couple of weeks working at the Epping and Ongar railway in Essex, alongside Balfour Beatty. This included installation and project management of a small track under the M11 motorway bridge. Balfour Beatty manned two of their new RRV 360's on test at the railway which were used to assist with the track renewal. The renewal is already for the tamper next week and then boxing off the ballast to finish off.
