Tonight’s SFMC meeting takes place at the Bury St Edmunds venue, Thurston Grange Hotel, IP31 3PQ, where there will be a presentation on the history of Thurlow Nunn Standen, which this year celebrates its 150th anniversary. All welcome. Please bring a raffle prize if possible.

Our calendar of summer visits and events kicks off soon. Below are all the details:

Tuesday 3rd June 2024 at 6.30 pm
Following his talk at the Bury meeting in February, a farm visit to Richard Duchesne will take place at Hall Farm, Stanningfield, IP29 4RB

Tuesday 17th June 2024 at 6.00pm
Farm visit to William Wrinch at Ness Farm, Erwarton, IP9 1LW. After this visit there is the option to go to The Rose at Shotley for fish and chips. If you wish to do this the cost is £10 payable on the night. When you put your name down for this visit, please indicate whether or not you would also like fish and chips.

Tuesday 1st July from 6.00pm
Summer Competition hosted by our Chairman
Chris Templeman at Red House Farm, Witnesham, IP6 9HL. There will be a charge of £5.00 per person, payable on the night, to cover cost of refreshments.

For all three of these events, we require names, as our hosts will need to know numbers. To put your name down please contact me either by text, email or telephone. We will always acknowledge that you have put your name down. If you don’t get a response from me, please double check that I have your name.

Happy new year to all present and prospective members of Suffolk Farm Machinery Club.

Our schedule of talks and presentations for the next few months is slowly taking shape. Please see below the dates, venues and subjects for our next few meetings:

7th January, 7:30pm
DEBENHAM CENTRE
Claydon Community Centre, IP6 0EG
Speaker: John Varden, member of the National Metal Detecting Council, will present on detecting and finds in Suffolk.

21st January, 7:30pm
BURY ST EDMUNDS CENTRE
Thurston Grange Hotel, IP31 3PQ

28th January, 7:30pm
WOODBRIDGE CENTRE
St. Audrey’s Social Club, Melton, IP12 1QS

Thank you to everyone who came to our recent AGM, where the key change to the committee was the voting-in of Jack Reason as the new club treasurer, succeeding Stewart Anderson-Cousins.

CHANGE OF VENUE FOR SFMC AGM 29.10.24

Tonight’s SFMC AGM venue has changed to the Claydon Hotel, IP6 OAR, just down the road from the Community Centre. As this is short notice we would appreciate it if you could tell anyone else not on our email list. Start time 7:30pm.

This is always a successful and worthwhile event, so please do come along and help us shape the future of the club. All are welcome.
