📲 Introduced QR Code inspections powered by CoreRFID, providing instant access to live certificates and inspection information

⚠️ Launched new inspection signage to help customers manage colour coding, inspection dates and equipment quarantining more effectively

🔧 Delivered bespoke lifting solutions, including a custom Yoke offshore swivel hook rated to 26T for a specialist lifting application

May at AMG Plant Testing ⛓

Another busy month for the AMG team, supporting customers across the UK & Ireland:

✅ 1,692 inspections completed

From our HQ… to site in England by Monday 🚚

This 28mm rope, complete with a 20mm swivel and supplied at 9m long, was sourced, certified and on a boat Friday , ready to hit site first thing Monday morning 🛳

At AMG, we know downtime isn’t an option.

Failed Equipment Find 👀

At first glance, this screw pin bow shackle might not look too bad, but once inspected properly, the issue becomes clear.

The screw pin was no longer threading in correctly and wasn’t protruding fully beyond the arch of the shackle as it should.

Why does that matter?

Because if the pin isn’t fully engaged, the shackle can no longer safely take the load it’s rated for making it a failed item under LOLER inspection.

In this case, due to the cost and safety implications, replacement was the safest and most practical option.

The customer was supplied with a brand new bow shackle, complete with:
✅ Unique serial number
✅ Certification
✅ Tagged and ready for use on site

This is exactly why thorough examinations and properly trained engineers are so important.

To the untrained eye, issues like this can easily be missed, but small defects can create serious risks if lifting equipment continues to be used.

What is a lever hoist and where is it used? 👀

A lever hoist is a manual lifting and pulling device used to move heavy loads using a hand-operated lever.

They’re commonly used across construction, engineering, overhead line, offshore and marine environments for:
▪️Lifting heavy loads vertically
▪️Pulling or tensioning equipment
▪️Positioning machinery precisely
▪️Aligning or securing structures

We stock a wide range of Grade 80 and Grade 100 chain and components at HQ, including:

✅ Shorteners
✅ Self-locking hooks
✅ Chain in various sizes

This customer recently placed a bulk order for Grade 80, 8mm and 10mm components, along with 40m of chain in both sizes, allowing them to manufacture the assemblies themselves in-house.
