A successful delivery for Samworth Brothers, Manton Wood 🚀

We’re delighted to see another Ultrasonic Sandwich Cutter (SKF) installed and supporting production with clean, consistent cutting and improved efficiency.

It’s been a busy time at Millitec with lots of machine development, builds and testing underway, so it was great to take a step back and enjoy some well-earned team time together 😊

Millitec is proud to support local regeneration.

Our Managing Director, Richard Ledger, is helping lead an ambitious project to restore the former M&S building on Bath Street in Ilkeston, with plans to transform it into a multi-purpose cultural space and makerspace for the town.

Last week, the project received special recognition from The High Sheriff of Derbyshire, Sir Richard FitzHerbert Bt, whose visit highlighted the importance of investing in cultural facilities and supporting opportunities for young people.

The visit began at the headquarters of the Erewash Partnership Ltd, before Sir Richard boarded a restored Barton bus from Richard’s classic vehicle collection for a journey to the Bath Street site.

Extensive restoration work is already underway, including exterior rendering, structural repairs, and new windows now being fitted. Unfortunately, funding has yet to be secured for the essential roof replacement, the next major milestone in the project.

Once complete, the cultural space will offer a performance space for theatre, dance, spoken word & community events, a dedicated dance studio, youth-focused creative makerspaces inspired by Haarlem Studios (Wirksworth) & Banks Mill Studios (Derby) and a flexible workspace for charities, social enterprises and small businesses.
