CAMPERVAN AVAILABLE FOR BREAKING

We’ve got a 1.9 Peugeot Boxer / Citroën Relay / Fiat Ducato-based 5-berth motorhome in with us.

Unfortunately, this motorhome has been involved in an accident and has sustained front-end damage, so we’ve made the decision to break it for parts.

Before we start stripping it, if anyone would be interested in purchasing the complete motorhome, we’re happy to consider sensible offers.

We’re planning to start breaking it today at around 9am.

This is a really well-equipped 5-berth motorhome with plenty of useful equipment and parts, including:

Love Mondays! 😂

Today we’ve decided to open up a 1999 Peugeot Boxer 2.0 petrol, 5-speed manual gearbox — and it’s fair to say we found a bit more inside than we were hoping for!

Once opened up, there was a serious amount of oil, water, dirt and contamination throughout the gearbox. It really is in a bad way.

We’ll be giving it a proper strip-down and deep clean to see exactly what we’re dealing with. There’s already some concern about rust and corrosion on the internal gears, so we may even need to source another gearbox if this one is too far gone.

Hopefully, after a good clean, it’ll look a hell of a lot better!

And if you can hear a bit of laughing in the background… please ignore it. 😂

Our mechanics should be removing and refitting gearboxes instead of watching TikToks! We think they’re the naughty boys of the workshop today. 😂

Another Ford EcoBoost gearbox in at RVN Gearboxes 🔧

This Ford Focus/Fiesta 1.0 EcoBoost 6-speed manual gearbox came to us from a local garage in Accrington.

The mechanic suspected an internal issue with the gearbox after it started making a loud noise and was struggling to select gears.

Once stripped down, we found the main shaft bearing had completely imploded, causing the internal damage.

Unfortunately, this is a very common fault on the Ford Fiesta and Ford Focus 1.0 EcoBoost 5-speed and 6-speed manual gearboxes.

At RVN Gearboxes we carry out repairs and full reconditioning on these gearboxes, with:

🚨 FINAL REVEAL – 2018 RENAULT MASTER GEARBOX 🚨

Yesterday we showed you the 2018 Renault Master gearbox that came into us with warning signs.

Well… surprise, surprise! 😳

After stripping it down, we found it was completely SCRAP.

•Completely burnt out internally from running with little to no oil
•Bearings smashed to pieces
•Gears destroyed
•Absolutely nothing left worth saving

This is exactly why you DO NOT ignore the warning signs.

•Noisy gearbox
•Crunching gears
•Hard to select gears
•Oil leaks
•Whining or unusual noises

Leave it too long and a repairable gearbox can quickly become a complete write-off.

This 2018 Renault Master 2.3 – PF6 gearbox was recovered to us over the Bank Holiday weekend, ready for us to get started on today.

The customer’s complaint was that he could only select 2nd and 4th gear, with crunching and grinding in all gears.

When we moved the vehicle into the workshop today, things got even more serious.

The gearbox actually locked up while driving down the road and nearly caused an accident.

This was an extremely dangerous situation and a perfect example of why gearbox problems should never be ignored.

After inspection, the gearbox sounds like it has suffered major internal damage and is effectively completely dismantled internally.

Unfortunately, this unit is now beyond use as an exchange gearbox. It is so badly damaged that it will be going straight into the scrap metal bin.

This means the customer will also have to pay an additional surcharge for us to source another suitable unit, as we simply cannot use this gearbox as an exchange.

CATCH IT EARLY. CATCH IT QUICK.

If your gearbox is starting to crunch, grind, jump out of gear or become difficult to select, don't leave it until it gets to this stage.

We supply fully reconditioned gearboxes with a 12-month unlimited mileage warranty, with nationwide delivery available. Gearboxes are sold on a surcharge basis.

And please excuse me on the video — I said “funny” instead of “fully reconditioned”! You’ll get the idea!

🚐 1.9 TDI Peugeot Boxer / Citroën Relay / Fiat Ducato Gearbox Repair 🔧

Another gearbox through the doors at RVN Gearboxes Ltd, Darwen, Lancashire. 📍

This 1.9 TDI gearbox came into us with problems selecting 2nd, 3rd and 5th gears, along with crunching and grinding during gear changes.

Once stripped down, we found significant wear to the gears, with the original Teflon coating completely worn away.

🔧 The gearbox required:
