World Mental Health Day | Real Voices, Real Change 💙

At The Crown Group, we know that behind every job, every project and every achievement are people.

Working in the rail industry can be demanding, and while we spend so much time focusing on getting the job done, it’s just as important to look out for the people around us.

Not everyone will feel comfortable speaking up, and not everyone will be having a good day. That’s why creating an environment where people feel supported, listened to and able to be themselves matters so much.

This World Mental Health Day, we’re encouraging everyone to check in with their colleagues, make time for conversations and remember that we don’t always know what someone else might be going through.

Because at the end of the day, it’s not just about the work we do, it’s about the people we do it with.

Let’s keep talking, keep listening and keep looking out for one another.

Project Spotlight | Botley Road, Oxford

A major milestone for Oxford - Botley Road has reopened following 3½ years of closure.

Our civils team supported the wider project with a substantial package of highway, public realm, drainage and groundworks, working alongside the wider project team through to the key handover milestone.

The scale of the works included 2,681m² of new asphalt surfacing, 998m of new kerbs, 1,067m² of Yorkshire stone paving and 840 tonnes of soil excavated using vacuum extraction.

Across 112 days of continuous work, the team recorded 24,948 hours worked and zero accidents.

Swipe through to see more of the work, resources and numbers behind the project.

We're proud to have supported the wider team in helping bring Botley Road back into use.

Three weeks ago today, we hosted our Charity Golf Day ⛳️

It was a fantastic day, bringing together customers, colleagues, friends and supporters for a great cause.

A huge thank you to everyone who took part, supported the event and helped make the day such a success. We’re incredibly grateful for everyone’s contribution.

A special shout-out to Adept Vehicle Management for sponsoring one of our nearest-the-pin competitions, and to Prep-D for keeping our golfers going with a protein-packed snack.

Here’s to a great day and, hopefully, many more to come.

A bit of feedback we wanted to share.

We received this great feedback from Network Rail, Bristol a few weeks ago, and it’s one we’re really proud of.

It’s always good to hear that the hard work our teams put in on site is noticed and appreciated.

A big well done to everyone involved - you represented The Crown Group brilliantly. 👏

World Heart Day ❤️

Today is World Heart Day - a great reminder to take a moment to think about our health and wellbeing.

Our people are at the heart of everything we do, and we want to make sure we’re doing our part to support them. That’s why we’re committed to supporting the health and wellbeing of our staff through our Health Shield benefits, available to our PAYE staff members.

Whether it’s making time for a health check, getting a little more active, eating well, or simply taking some time to look after yourself, the small things can make a big difference.

So today, let’s take a moment to look after ourselves and those around us.

Because our people are at the heart of what we do. 💙

Today is a bit of a bittersweet one as we say goodbye to our HR Manager, Amanda.

Amanda has been with us for the last two years and has made a huge impact on the business. We'd like to say a huge thank you for all her support, hard work during her time here.

She's played such a big part in the team at Crown and she will be missed by us all.

We wish you all the best, Amanda, in your new role! 💙

First day of autumn calls for a little throwback!🍂

A few photos from the archives of the team carrying out some de-veg work, with the autumn colours making an appearance in the background.

It’s always good to look back at some of the sites and jobs we’ve worked on.
