“Let’s do it a bit different.” 👀

Are you going to put a cover crop in after your maize?

If you have harvested maize and are considering applying slurry to your stubble fields to put back in nutrients, a cheap cover crop like mustard could help maintain some more of the nutrients and give you a bed to drive over later in the year.

It also has the benefit of helping soil structure, especially after the dry summer we had this year.

If you want to make planting a cover crop and applying slurry easier, then take a look at the Vogelsang XTill.

Has your slurry store crusted over the long, hot summer?☀️
You can avoid a crust forming by separating your slurry. Separation is not just about reducing the amount of liquid you are storing but also making that liquid easier to store by removing dry matter.

If you have a covered store this is even more important because without rainwater, and ease of access, a crust can form and be very hard to work with.

If you want advice on how separation can help your farm, drop us a message and we'll get back to you.

A little time now could save costly breakdowns and repairs next year 🚜
Before your slurry application kit is left in the back of the shed for next year, it’s worth putting in a few hours of maintenance.

• Clean macerators
• Oil moving parts
• Check and empty stone traps
• Check hoses for tears

These are just a few things you can do to keep your kit lasting longer and performing better. Taking a look now may soften the blow when you find you need replacement parts or machinery for next year.
