A day on the Hurco Europe Ltd is always a good one. 💪

With 8 Hurco machines on the shop floor, including the TM12, TM10i, VMX60Mi and our latest addition, the VMX30Ui, there’s plenty of Hurco power keeping things moving.

From turning and milling through to complex 5-axis work, they’re a big part of what we use day in, day out to machine everything from one-off components to larger batches.

For some components, nylon is the better choice. It’s lightweight, tough and offers good wear resistance, making it useful for all sorts of engineering applications.

There’s nothing worse than getting to the end of a batch and finding out something isn’t quite right.

We’d rather catch it 𝙚𝙖𝙧𝙡𝙞𝙚𝙧.

At Algernon, components are checked throughout the manufacturing process against the customer’s drawings and specifications. That means we’re keeping an eye on dimensions, tolerances and surface finish as the work progresses, rather than leaving all the checks until the end.

It’s a simple approach, but it helps us keep things consistent across the batch and make sure the parts are ready when they leave us.

We had a video team and drone on site for a full day of filming and photography, capturing the skill and the great work that goes on here every day.

It might have something to do with a new company video and website. It might not. You’ll just have to wait and see...

Some materials are a little more demanding to machine than others, and that’s where experience really matters. ⚙️

We’ve built up decades of experience working with a wide range of specialist and exotic materials, alongside more familiar steels, stainless, non-ferrous materials and nylons.

So if you have a component made from something that’s not exactly the easiest material to work with, there’s a good chance we’ve machined it before.
