The amount of emergency breakdown jobs coming through this past week has been unreal.

This one here is a perfect example - the part was completely broken at one side ,causing the machine to stop completely.

No panic…
New part manufactured in-house, turned around quickly, and the customer is back up and running 💪

We’ve been a bit quiet on here lately… but that’s usually a sign we’re busy in the workshop.

Here’s a small sneak peek at some of the work we’ve been up to.

It’s amazing what you can manufacture from a solid steel billet. This component was machined for a local concrete company and will be fitted to one of their boats that dredges sand out of Lough Neagh.

A lot of time, skill, and precision goes into turning a raw block of steel into a finished working part.

Reverse engineering in action 🔧

This is a perfect example of why problem-solving sits at the heart of engineering.

The original part (left) was so worn and damaged it had to be held together with jubilee clips just to stop it falling apart. Despite that, we were able to reverse engineer it, understand the design intent, and manufacture a brand-new replacement part (right).

From worn-out components to precision-manufactured solutions - this is what we do every day at Reynolds Precision Engineering.

Why replace the whole plate when you can just change the part?

We love it when we can step in and make a real difference for our long-standing customers 🙌

A recent project had us rethinking a design so the part is now completely changeable - meaning when it wears out, it can be swapped in minutes for a fraction of the cost of replacing the whole plate.

It’s always rewarding when we get the chance to support one of our long-standing customers with a fresh solution to an ongoing issue.

They were consistently facing downtime and frustration every time a bearing seized inside their roller setup. So, we stepped in with a new design.

These new rollers have been engineered in two parts, making them much more accessible when it comes to removing and replacing broken bearings. A simple idea, but a game changer for future maintenance and longevity.

Just another example of how we combine practical engineering with problem-solving to keep our customers moving forward.
