Celebrating Peter Kuchta’s Contribution to LFE Engineering
This month’s spotlight is a special one, as we recognise Peter Kuchta, Design Engineer, who is retiring after 14 years with LFE Engineering.
Peter joined LFE in April 2012 as a Fabricator Welder, bringing strong practical knowledge of fabrication and welding processes. Over time, he progressed into the role of Design Engineer, where his hands-on experience proved invaluable when developing practical, efficient, and buildable solutions for the shopfloor.
Throughout his time at LFE, Peter has worked across a wide variety of projects, from fabricating tanks and structural frameworks to designing paint frames, welding fixtures, and bespoke production equipment. His ability to understand both fabrication requirements and design intent helped ensure projects could move smoothly from concept through to manufacture.
One project Peter particularly enjoyed involved developing a conveyor system for George Koch, where he designed and built a welding robot to support the fabrication process. Demonstrating both creativity and engineering mindset, the robot itself was produced using a repurposed Mag drill, highlighting Peter’s practical approach to problem solving and innovation.
Peter takes pride in being able to develop ideas into working solutions and seeing those solutions used in real production environments. His background in fabrication has allowed him to design with a clear understanding of what works in practice, helping improve efficiency and usability on the shopfloor.
Moving from fabrication into design is a path that reflects both technical capability and a willingness to continuously develop new skills. Peter’s contribution over the last 14 years has supported a wide range of projects across the business and helped strengthen the link between design and manufacture.
As Peter begins his retirement, we would like to thank him for his contribution, professionalism, and practical approach to engineering challenges.
We wish Peter all the very best for the future and hope retirement brings plenty of time to enjoy new projects, without the deadlines.
