Warwick Boring is Recruiting!

Join the Warwick Boring team, finalists in Elon Musk's 2021, 2023, and 2024 Boring Competitions!

We're seeking undergraduates and graduates from diverse academic backgrounds who are passionate about Arts, Sciences, or Business to join our team and fill various exciting roles.

This March, our Warwick Boring Team ventured into Elon Musk's "Not-A-Boring-Competition," an event dedicated to pushing the boundaries of technology in the tunneling and construction industry. Our journey doesn't end there; we're now preparing for the next chapter of this project, armed with fresh perspectives and knowledge as we prepare to compete once again.

After a number of post-competition review sessions and meetings this summer, Warwick Boring has SUBMITTED its Preliminary Design Briefing and is one step closer into qualifying for the Not-a-Boring Competition 2025!

We plan to make significant chances to our Tunnel Boring Machine and you can be a part of it starting October! Stay tuned.

Embark on a journey of innovation with Warwick Boring as we take on Elon Musk's Not-a-Boring Competition 2024 in Bastrop, Texas! This year, our goal has been to improve our current tunnel boring machine and secure the top spot at NaBC 2024. We kicked off the week with a comprehensive tour of The Boring Company's facilities, where we proudly presented our machine to their engineers, outlining our aspirations for the competition. Following rigorous safety checks and meticulous fine-tuning of our hydraulic, electronic, and propulsion systems, we were privileged to engage in a captivating Q&A session with none other than CEO Steve Davis and a host of brilliant Boring Company engineers. As the week progressed, our 2nd, 3rd, and 4th year members were graciously invited to a recruitment dinner, where we gained invaluable insights into potential opportunities and the inner workings of TBC. After a long week of hard work our machine finally worked, ending off the competition with a high note. Warwick Boring would like to thank The Boring Company, Warwick School of Engineering, Carmen Sáenz, Cole Kenny, our amazing team members and all of those watching for their guidance and support. Days 5 and 6 were spent on soil and connection testing, as we were able to connect our TBM to a hydraulic pump. With the machine lifted on a frame to spin the cutterhead, our set up is almost done! We've got so many amazing pictures that we get to split them into two posts! In the evening, we had an insightful session with Steve Davis, the CEO of TBC, featuring a Q&A session and interaction with TBC engineers. A massive thank you to The Boring Company, Carmen Saenz and Cole Kenny for helping us during the event!

Warwick Boring kicking off the first day strong at the Not-a-Boring Competition in Bastrop, TX! Huge thank you to Carmen Sáenz and The Boring Company for an incredible tour of their facilities after our successful Mining Readiness Review presentation to the TBC team.

Our tunnel boring machine has arrived in Bastrop, TX, USA, and Warwick Boring has made it to the 2024 Not-a-Boring Competition hosted by The Boring Company! Unloading and gearing up for the beginning of the competition. Let the competition begin! 💪
