In October I am offering training to up and coming electrical engineers and also experienced engineers that would like a better understanding within the electrical control area. I will be running day classes with a maximum of 3 students per class.
Topics covered are listed below but can be adjusted to suit .
Day class 1
Expectations from employers regarding engineers.
Engineers responsibilities within maintenance teams.
Electrical Safety in General to include isolation, and the importance of safe isolation, how we isolate, proving our isolation is actually isolated.
Understanding why we use safety relays in control circuits.
Day Class 2
Based around Motors and controls for motors. Hands on building motor controls from basic controls to more complex types of motor control. Students will wire direct on line starters with local and remote controls. Students will understand how to select the correct components for small motors at .37kw to 300kw
This class builds confidence within the student and often answers a lot of questions from there experience within the control areas.
Day Class 3
Designed around students that have a basic to good understanding of control circuits.
Star/delta motor circuit, students will select contactors and other hardware to wire a motor starting circuit. Students will learn why we use these circuits and how to fault find when things go wrong.
Introduction to motor frequency inverters and why we use them.
Day Class 4
Motor frequency inverters, students will wire an inverter to a motor and understand what controls are required so we can safely use inverters. Understanding the selection of inverters and selecting the correct wiring of the motor being connected to it. (Star/Delta )wiring.
Day Class 5
Students are introduced to safety relays. Students will wire a basic safety circuit including E stops and guard switches. Students will fault find on safety circuits.
Students will visit the biggest machinery safety company in the world, Pilz U.K. students will see the set up there and meet some of the staff that will be there to help them if they have any questions in the future.
Feed back so far has been fantastic on these classes. Students appreciate the hands on approach sitting round a work bench rather than a class room environment.
If these classes are of interest please message me .
Please remember training is the key within any industry. Good training means less down time.
