The team at OHM Engineering recently had the privilege of supporting a STEM initiative at St. Mary’s Primary School, Aughnacloy, delivered in partnership with MEGA- Manufacturing & Engineering Growth & Advancement and funded by the James Kane Foundation. The team designed, built, and donated a bespoke outdoor storage unit to complement the school’s new lean-to and seeing it come together for the pupils and staff made it very rewarding.

Investing in young people and our local community is something we feel strongly about, inspiring the next generation of engineers.

Position: Assembly Operative
Location: Clogher, Northern Ireland
Job Type: Full-Time – Immediate Start

OHM Engineering Ltd. is expanding and we are currently looking for Assembly Operatives to join our busy team in Clogher. This is a great opportunity to work with modern engineering technology in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

⏰ Working Hours:
• 40 hours per week
• Early finish Friday at 12 Noon

🔧 Key Tasks & Duties
• Assemble conveyors using detailed engineering drawings and standard operating procedures
• Use hand tools, power tools, craneage and machinery to assemble conveyors
• Ensure all components are properly fitted and aligned during assembly
• Operate and maintain assembly line equipment and machinery
• Use overhead cranes to transport and move parts and sub-assembled conveyors
• Carry out quality checks at various stages of the assembly process
• Complete quality inspection reports and highlight any defects or discrepancies
• Organise parts and materials required for the assembly of sub-assembled conveyors

🎓 Skills & Experience
• Experience working in a manufacturing or assembly environment preferred
• Ability to read and follow technical drawings
• Experience using hand tools and machinery
• Strong attention to quality and detail
• Reliable, punctual, and professional attitude
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

We had a great visit to St. Macartan’s Primary, where our CEO and former pupil Mike met with the P5/6 class to hear their fantastic STEM projects. The pupils asked some brilliant questions and impressed us with their creativity and confidence.

It was a pleasure to give their work a final thumbs up before it’s submitted to the STEPS Young Engineers Award. Well done to all, the future of engineering is bright!
