Every stockroom has shelves like this. You know, the ones where somebody glances into a box, makes a judgement on what's left, and decides whether it's time to reorder.

But everyone who checks makes a slightly different judgement.

One engineer thinks there's weeks of stock left.
Another thinks it's running low.
A third places an order just to be safe.

Before long, nobody's working from the same information, and you’ve got too much stock to store.

Stock indicators remove that guesswork. As soon as the reserve stock is in use, engineers change your visual status to red. So instead of estimating quantities, teams can instantly see whether stock is available (green) , reordered (yellow) , or needs attention (red).

Giving you consistent visibility at the line.

If your stock status currently lives in people's heads, visual signals are often the simplest place to start. Comment BINFLAG.

You've got six cartons of PPE left on the shelf. Plenty, no rush to reorder.
A week later, there's one left and suddenly everyone's trying to work out whether more have been ordered.

Large, bulky inventory often falls outside the normal stock control process.
It sits on shelving, in cartons, or on pallets because it won't fit into traditional bin systems. And because everyone can see it, there's an assumption someone will spot when it's running low.

The problem is that "somebody" isn't always there when it matters.

TripFlag gives larger inventory the same clear reorder point as the rest of your stock.

When active stock reaches the agreed level, reserve stock is released and the visual signal changes automatically at the point-of-use. So everyone knows the status immediately.

Less panic ordering and more confidence in what's actually on the shelf.

If bulky stock is regularly catching you out, TripFlag gives you the visibility to stay ahead of demand rather than react to it explore on our wbesite - link in bio.

How TwinBin prevents stockouts using Kanban 🔃

TwinBin builds that reorder point directly into the physical process.

Active stock is used first.
Reserve stock is only released when needed.
And the moment it’s accessed, the reorder signal is triggered.

Simple but effective visual systems like this are how you stop inventory from interrupting production. Comment SAMPLE if you want to see the TwinBin cycle in practice.

Stock gets low, no one’s fully sure if it’s already been reordered. One shift assumes the last shift dealt with it, and by the time someone notices, engineers are down to the last handful of parts, and a panic order gets placed.

The floor is busy, priorities move quickly, and inventory updates still rely on people manually checking, scanning, or passing messages on.

TwinBin Live is built for fast-paced, high-stakes environments like yours and completely removes that gap.

The moment reserve stock is released, the system automatically:
🚨 triggers the physical reorder signal
📩 sends a live update to your cloud-based system
‼️ alerts everyone linked to the system across shifts and sites

So instead of walking the floor every morning trying to work out what needs ordering, your team can instantly see from their desks:
– what’s been triggered
– what’s already been reordered
– and what still needs actioning

Just-in-time replenishment, clearer visibility across teams, and far fewer reactive orders caused by missed signals. Comment CONTROL to find out more.

A little sneak peek at our stand design for Farnborough Airshow… officially 9 weeks to go ✈️

It’s been a date in the calendar for over 10 years now, and every year it comes around, the excitement kicks in around now… alongside the stress of organising everything that comes with an airshow stand 😅 Anyone who’s exhibited at Farnborough will know exactly what we mean.

A lot more planning goes into these stands than people probably realise, and walking around the event seeing the effort every business puts in is always one of the best parts.
Sure these next 9 weeks will fly by. Let us know if we’ll be seeing you there 👇

One of the simplest but most effective inventory principles is separating:
- active stock
– reserve stock

When everything is stored together:

– FIFO breaks down
- cross-contamination starts happening
– re-order timing becomes inconsistent
– stock visibility disappears
– and you start over ordering “just in case”

Kanban works best when there’s a clear point where: active stock ends → reserve stock begins → reorder is triggered.

That’s the thinking behind the TwinBin system.

Simple operational changes like this are what stop inventory from interrupting production in the first place. Even if you don’t change your full setup, separating active and reserve stock is one of the quickest ways to gain more visibility, reduce waste, and create a far clearer reorder point.

A huge congratulations to Hurst Green Football Club Reserves on winning the league 👏

A lot of hard work goes into a season like this, from the coaches and volunteers behind the scenes, and of course, the lads turning up week in, week out and putting the effort in.

We’ve sponsored HGFC for more years than we can count now, so it’s brilliant to see the team get the result they deserve.

Go on… help us give them the recognition they’ve earned in the comments ⚽👏

Still using shelving but struggling to keep track of stock?

Stock signals getting missed?

We see this a lot when there’s a reliance on manual checks, scans, or someone remembering to trigger the next step and that’s when delays in project deadlines start.

TwinBin Live removes that step completely. Stock movements are captured automatically at the point of use, sending real-time updates straight to your system.

So you can see:
– what’s in use
– what’s been triggered
– what needs replenishing across each floor and site, from your desk or on the go.

It’s the same physical control at the line, now with live visibility behind it.

If you want stock control that updates as work happens visit our website www.twinbin.com to find out more.

If inventory keeps interrupting your day, this is where you start getting that time back.

This sample pack gives you a clear, hands-on way to see how different inventory systems would actually work in your setup, before committing to anything.

Inside:
– TwinBin (two-bin Kanban system for controlled stock flow)
– Stock indicators (SpinFlag + BinFlags) to upgrade existing bins or shelving
– KitBoxes for secure, lineside kitting so each engineer has exactly what they need for their specific project
– A few extras to show how it all fits together

It’s the easiest way to figure out what would work for you, and what wouldn’t.
