Humidity control isn't always about removing moisture.

When we talk about humidity, the conversation often focuses on too much moisture, condensation, damp and mould.

But the opposite can also be a problem.

In some indoor environments, particularly those using heating or air conditioning for long periods, humidity levels can become too low. This can affect comfort and, in certain workplaces and specialist environments, the condition of materials and equipment.

That’s where humidification comes in.

Humidifiers add controlled moisture back into the air, helping maintain a more suitable indoor humidity level.

So, while dehumidifiers remove moisture, humidifiers do the opposite.

The key isn't simply having more or less moisture, it's having the right amount for the space and what you're using it for.

Humidity control isn't always about removing moisture - sometimes it's about adding it.

Humidifiers aren't really seasonal in the same way as heaters or air conditioners. Whether you need one depends on the humidity level inside the building, not simply the outdoor temperature.

In summer, humidifiers can still be useful where:
- Air conditioning is running for long periods, which can reduce indoor humidity.
- Large, air-conditioned spaces have very dry indoor air.
- Certain environments need controlled humidity, such as archives, museums, storage areas, manufacturing or electronics.
