This Alvis was almost written off by another Engineering company. New liners were fitted so far off original centres that the head gasket fire ring impeached the cylinder bores. This was bored on correct centres and a top fl**ge machined. No liners were available, so I made them from blanks. Top deck refaced, then finish bored and honed to suit pistons. A nice big chamfer in the bottom to allow for easy piston ring installation.
