For Paul Kelly, this simple question marked the beginning of an unexpected journey into the world of tile adhesives and smoothing compounds. With the help of a chemist friend, what started with a ribbon blender mixer and a question would eventually lead to years of experience in the industry and the creation of Kelmore.

When a project requires a high-quality finish, the right preparation and products are essential.

For this domestic project, the substrate was confirmed as calcium sulphate screed, so the team at Carters Prestige selected PrimeMore CS and LevelMore Flex&Fibre to provide a compatible, reliable solution for preparing the subfloor prior to installing the floor coverings.

Despite the previous issues on the project, the 100m² area was prepared quickly and efficiently, achieving a smooth, uniform finish that exceeded SR1 standards.

Getting the most from PrimeMore MVS 🟣

✅PrimeMore MVS needs to be applied on a clean, well-prepared subfloor. Start by removing any surface contaminants, such as laitance, paint overspray and construction dirt.

✅Where required, rough or uneven surfaces can first be smoothed using one of Kelmore’s moisture-tolerant levelling and smoothing compounds.

✅Apply PrimeMore MVS in one direction using a short-pile roller, then once dry, apply a second coat at 90° for complete coverage.

✅ If a smoothing compound isn’t applied within 24 hours of the second coat drying, a further coat of PrimeMore MVS should be applied before continuing.
