Several hours of precision Engineering have gone into this complete set of Carrier Pins. An enjoyable but challenging task that has certainly tested our prowess and skillsets.

We've leant on all sections of the shop to get this one over the line, fair to say its been a joint effort and everyone involved can be proud of their input.

From start to finish, these parts have been carefully machined, featuring high-precision ground surfaces and tight tolerances throughout.

The job has also required us to call on sub-contract processes such as wire cutting, allowing us to achieve the intricate profiles and slots required to produce the parts to drawing.

Here you will also see some Nylon storage units we've designed and manufactured to house precision ground and machined parts also made here at DS Machining.

The precision parts are located and designated by part number and we even engraved our logo onto the part for good measure.

The start to 2026 has been a really productive time for us all here at DS Machining Services, plenty of work coming through the door, and things are looking positive moving forward.

At the start of March we took the plunge and waved goodbye to an old friend, our HAAS VF3 vertical machining centre. Fair to say it worked hard for its money over the years, but ultimately all good things come to an end...

However...

We're delighted to present to you, in all its glory, our brand new HAAS VF4 SS.

As a business we strive to continuously develop our artillery, strengthening the commitment to our customer promise! Precision is at the heart of what we do here and we're excited to see where this next chapter takes us...

Welcome back all! We've been really busy in the early phases of 2026 and things are looking really positive for us moving forward!

We've opted for a short video demonstrating some production turning for you all for the first content of the year - this part has been run without the aid of a cooling agent to avoid coolant splash on the lens. (Let us know what you think in the comment section below) ⬇️⬇️⬇️

The parts in question consist of a mild steel shaft with a counter bore in one end and a simple face and chamfer at the other (Milled features to follow), this is a batch of 180 off.

The brief this year sounds a little like this 'If spindles aren't turning, then we aren't earning!' We're implementing this mantra across the shop floor and we're actively improving our down-time to ensure ultimate efficiency.

We hope you've all had a positive and productive start to 2026. We endeavour to maintain positive working relations over the next 12 months and thereafter.

And that's a wrap for 2025. This year has brought us ups, downs and everything in-between. Nonetheless we're still here kicking on and filled with optimism for a positive 2026 🙌

We'd like to thank our customers for their support throughout this past year and pass on glad tidings for the festive season🎄

Paul & Sam are looking forward to working with you all again over the next 12 months and are excited at the prospect of welcoming new customers on-board with us.

An honourable mention to our small team of talented engineers, who make all this possible. Without you we wouldn't be able to operate and thrive like we do, so thank you!

‼️Weekly update‼️

Greetings all, its that time of year again... wheres that year gone?

Upon arrival to the premises you will be greeted with what (some) may describe as a masterpiece... this is of course up for debate 😂

We've gone with an Engineering theme on the company tree this year, terrible temu coming in clutch with the decorations... how on earth do they make this stuff so cheap???

Our doors are open right up until Christmas Eve, and we'll be back in on Monday January 5th. With whats been a challenging year for all, we're looking forward to a much needed break. Until then, pop in and see us, we'd love to see you all!

One final thing, we'd love to get your opinion on, is the 25th November too soon to put a tree up??? we'd love to know what you think as it's a bag of mixed opinions amongst the staff today..🎄

‼️Weekly update‼️

With the first signs of frost falling this week its fair to say winter is well and truly upon us❄️

We're putting in the hours to get work out the door, a variety of different workload has came through the doors this week, testing our engineering prowess and capabilities.

We've got a large batch of Hydraulic Rams which we're in the process of manufacturing from scratch, we're in the business of repairing a few also.

Our doors are open till 6pm every day in the lead up to the Christmas break so pop in and see us, we'll be happy to help!

!!! PLEASE SHARE !!! CHIPPING SODBURY !!!

We have just had the pleasure of 2 young gentleman in hoods coming into our car park in the middle of the working day and attempting to steal one of our members of staffs motorbikes...

Our roller shutter door was DOWN at the time, fortunately the front wheel was locked and a member of the public called through to our landline to let us know what was going on, special thank you to them.

The police are to be made aware imminently.

It takes a huge amount of front to step foot onto a working premises during the middle of the day and try to steal a motorbike, so if you do cross paths just be vigilant and call the police.

Saddens us that someone trying to earn an honest living could potentially have their possessions stolen whilst at work.
