We’re really pleased to share Ruth Wightman’s podcast debut 🎙️

Ruth, also known as , joined Nicolaidis, host of Our Built Heritage and MD of VA Heritage, to talk about all things masonry, from sourcing the right materials through to delivering complex heritage schemes like Claridge's and Great Scotland Yard Hotel.

Both are Grade II listed and come with their own challenges, from planning constraints to working within existing structures. It’s a great insight into how those challenges are overcome in practice, without compromising the design.

Meet Nellie 🐶 – our CEO (Canine Encouragement Officer) – out on a rainy day adventure with me for the Netwalking. She spotted ducks, had treats, & showing her calm, friendly nature… and on her way to becoming a therapy dog. Just like .with.bricks, it’s all about building connections, collaboration, & spreading a little joy wherever we go! 😊

Happy New Year everyone 🙂

Back to the grindstone today… sorting quotes for bricks & tiles, designing some 3D drawings, and tackling my self assessment 🤯

The skies were beautiful when I looked out of the window this morning, but wow, it’s flipping cold 🥶

So here are my WFH winter warmers to keep me functioning (hopefully!!) 👇

🔥 Jacket potatoes in my * slow cooker with homemade chilli for tea (dinner if you’re in the south 😄)
🔥 A cup of *
🔥 Porridge with blueberries & honey for breakfast
🔥 * flask of hot water so I’m not constantly boiling the kettle
🔥 Hot water bottle & a fleece
🔥 My cosy (and VERY warm) * reindeer hoodie

💪 Busy weeks like this remind me why I love what I do!

✨ I wrapped up last Friday at the Leeds Central Meeting at , hosted by

The room had such a great atmosphere — full of members, guests & inspiring conversations between construction and trades professionals 👷‍♀️👷‍♂️

We also heard from Grant Hamilton, who gave a brilliant talk on the Construction Support Programme & Available Funding 💡 — helping to create training businesses that deliver construction projects.
