🫡 YOU SAID, WE DID! πŸš“

Speeding Vehicles in Staveley:

PCSO Brown from Staveley SNT was joined by yesterday to assist with conducting speed watches on Fan Road & Middlecroft Road.

We are aware that have been several reports of speeding on these roads - and we know there are a lot more to cover as well. We have every intention of covering all of the roads reported/mentioned in the comments over the next few months.

Please comment below if you would like a particular road covered.

The cadets had a great time in interacting with members of the public as well - most of the public were very grateful for the extra presence and the cadets have helped out their local neighbourhood team by being able to show a visible presence, and evidence that speeding does take place on these roads.

🚨 Community Safety Message – Protect Your Property & Vehicles 🚨

We’ve recently seen an increase in thefts in the area
We’re asking everyone to take a few simple steps to help protect your property:

πŸ”’ Lock it, don’t risk it – Always lock your doors and windows, even if you’re only leaving for a short time.
πŸ”‘ Remove keys – Never leave keys in the ignition or inside your vehicle.
πŸ’Ό Hide valuables – Keep bags, tools, and other items out of sight or take them with you.
πŸš— Vehicle security – Double-check your vehicle is locked and consider using additional security like steering locks or alarms.
πŸ“Ή Lighting & CCTV – Good lighting and home security systems can act as a strong deterrent.
πŸ‘€ Stay vigilant – Report any suspicious activity in your area.

By taking these steps, we can work together to reduce crime and keep our community safe.

πŸ“ž If you see something suspicious, report it via 101 or 999 in an emergency.

Today SNT were in the marketplace hosting a mobile knife amnesty, providing a safe and secure way for individuals to dispose of knives responsibly.
The event also helped raise awareness around knife crime and its impact, giving us the opportunity to engage with the community about keeping our town safe. Thank you to everyone who came along to speak with us.

Staveley SNT have today been out on Patrol at Ringwood Park, whilst also checking out the progress on the Chesterfield BMX Track currently under redevelopment and due to be opened in July 2026.

The track is maintained and run by Chesterfield BMX Racing Club and will also be open to the Public in a few months’ time, which is good news for the area.

We are also aware of some Anti -Social Behaviour in the park, due to this we will be carrying out regular patrols in the coming days and weeks.

Please report any ASB issues to the Police via 101 or via your Local Safer Neighbourhood Team

Homes by Honey -Duckmanton Building Site

We have received reports of youths gaining access to the building site on Tom Lane, Duckmanton and climbing on the scaffolding.
This behaviour is extremely dangerous. Construction sites contain many hazards, including unstable structures, sharp materials, and risks of serious injury or worse.

Climbing scaffolding significantly increases the risk of falling from height. The site is monitored by CCTV, and footage will be reviewed. This may also be shared with local schools to assist in identifying those involved.

We ask parents and guardians to please speak with young people about the serious risks and consequences of entering restricted construction areas.
If you have any information, please get in touch.

πŸš“ Speed Watch - You Said, We Did! πŸš“

Officers have today attended Inkersall Green Road to conduct a speed watch after reports of dangerous speeding along this road.

This allows us to show a strong high visibility presence in the area and deter speeding vehicles.

Several vehicles were clocked driving at excess speed today - these will be dealt with by officers.

Please remember:

❌ The minimum penalty for speeding is a fixed penalty fine of £100 and three points added to your licence.

❌ Receiving 12 or more points within three years may disqualify you from driving.

❌ If you’re a newly qualified driver and receive six points during the first two years after passing your test, your licence will automatically be cancelled (revoked). To get it back you’ll need to apply and pay for a new provisional licence and pass both theory and practical tests again.

πŸš“ Community Speed Watch: Keeping Our Roads Safe Together πŸš“

Community speed watch is a vital part of keeping our neighbourhoods safe. By monitoring speeds in key areas, volunteers help us:

πŸš— Reduce speeding in high-risk locations
πŸš— Protect pedestrians, schoolchildren, and vulnerable road users.
βœ… Educate drivers before enforcement becomes necessary
πŸ«±πŸ»β€πŸ«²πŸ½ Strengthen the partnership between police and the community.

We're now looking for local volunteers who want to make a real difference. Full training and support are provided by your safer neighbourhood team.

If you'd like to get involved or learn more, please contact your safer neighbourhood team and help us make our roads safer for everyone. You can do this through Derbyshire Alert, FB messenger or through the website/101.
