Officers from Staveley Police Station have been patrolling known hotspots over the last week for our offroad bike operation and drugs anti-social behaviour.

- Peterdale Road & Cowlane in Brimington
- Bower Farm Road, Station Lane, Gypsy Lane, South Street North in Whittington.
- Transpennine Trail in Inkersall
- Poolsbrook Country Park

🦸‍♀️💙 Ashgate superheroes! A huge thank you from your local SNT team! 💙🦸‍♂️

We were delighted to attend the Chesterfield Ashgate Superhero Night Walk at Queen’s Park this evening and would like to say a massive thank you to everyone involved in organising such a fantastic event! 🌟
No all heroes wear capes.. but tonight many of them did!
Ashgate Hospice Superheroes helped raise money for Ashgate Hospice and the children got to be the fundraisers!
The Ashgate Superheroes tonight have helped the charity to care for people when they need us the most

THANKYOU to all the organisers, volunteers, supporters and, of course all the superheroes took part and helped make the evening fabulous!

PCSO Gouldsbrough met all the hero’s; from both superman / superwoman to stormtroopers - she has experienced it all! 👏💫

It was great to see the community come together, showing such amazing spirit and support for a wonderful cause. ❤️

🎥 In this short update, I explain our local policing priorities, how we decide where to focus our resources, and the work taking place across Chesterfield to address the issues that matter most to our communities.
Our priorities are shaped by reports and calls for service, intelligence and local knowledge from our PCs and PCSOs, and feedback received through our Community Voice surveys. Your concerns help inform where we focus our time and resources.
📍 Some recent progress and priorities include:
🚔 Nuisance and off-road bikes: Nine of our eleven neighbourhoods have identified nuisance bikes as a priority. Over the weekend, officers seized three off-road bikes in Queen’s Park as part of our ongoing enforcement activity. We have a bespoke operation to tackle this ongoing issue and rely on community intelligence to inform us who is riding these bikes, and where they are ridden and stored. We will take action on information and intelligence we receive.
👥 Youth-related anti-social behaviour: In Staveley, a targeted problem management plan addressing repeat incidents at an abandoned building has helped us identify three individuals, take positive action and achieve a reduction in reported incidents of ASB.
🛍️ Town centre retail crime: Reported shop theft fell by 20%, from 70 offences between March and June to 56 between June and September. We will continue targeting prolific offenders and working with local businesses through ShopWatch.
🏙️ Town centre anti-social behaviour: Retail crime and vagrancy remain priorities, with an increased focus on youth-related anti-social behaviour. We will continue working with Chesterfield Borough Council, local businesses, youth engagement teams and other partners to address these concerns. Since the introduction of our Town Centre Partnership team we have made 54 arrests and completed 34 stop searches within the town centre and will continue to take action against those who visit the town centre to commit crime and anti-social behaviour.

These results demonstrate the importance of visible policing, targeted enforcement and effective problem-solving with our partners. There is more work to do, and we remain committed to tackling the issues that affect residents, businesses and visitors.

🚲 FREE Bike Marking at both Queen's Park & Somersall Park 🚲

Do you own a bike? Protect it against theft by getting it security marked and registered with BikeRegister completely free of charge by your local SNT officers.

What you need to bring:

1: YOUR BIKE

2: ACCESS TO A VALID EMAIL ADDRESS ( you will need to verify at the time of marking to be added to the register).

Officers will be at Queen's Park and Somersall Park offering free bike marking and registration. BikeRegister is the UK’s national cycle database and allows your bike to be linked directly to you. If your bike is lost or stolen and later recovered, police can quickly identify the rightful owner.

Every Police Force in the UK uses the BikeRegister database to search for stolen & recovered bikes

✅ Free security marking
✅ Registration on the national BikeRegister database
✅ Helps deter thieves
✅ Increases the chances of stolen bikes being reunited with their owners

Cycle theft can happen anywhere, so taking a few minutes to mark and register your bike is a simple but effective way to keep it protected.

🚨 Off-road bikes? We’re putting the brakes on them. 🏍️💨

Over the last month, officers from Chesterfield Safer Neighbourhood Team have been out and about across Chesterfield carrying out a number of operations, utilising our Forces Proactive and Bike Team aimed at tackling off-road and nuisance bikes.
And let’s just say… we know there are plenty more where those came from! 👀
We’ll continue to act on information from our communities about where these bikes are being ridden and will keep taking action where appropriate.

📢 We need your help too! If you know where nuisance or off-road bikes are being used, please keep passing that information on to us.

And a little reminder to parents and riders:
⚡ If an e-bike isn’t pedal assisted and can travel at speeds over 15mph, it may not be legal to use on the road or in public places.
So, before that “bargain” e-bike turns into an expensive conversation with us… check the rules! 😉

Are you passionate about making our roads safer and helping to protect your local community?

Community Speed Watch is looking for new volunteers to join our team. Community Speed Watch gives residents the opportunity to work alongside police and partners to help address concerns about speeding vehicles in their area.

No previous experience is needed. Full training and support will be provided. Volunteering is a great way to make a positive difference, meet new people, and help improve road safety for everyone.

By giving a small amount of your time, you can play an important role in encouraging safer driving and protecting residents, pedestrians, and other road users.

Police have conducted a speed-watch activity following concerns raised by local residents about speeding through Fan Road and Inkersall Road, with the help from Cllr Dawn ABBOTT.

With children playing, families walking and residents using our roads every day, it is vital that drivers slow down and drive with care - please be mindful of your speed, this is a residential area.

A few seconds saved is never worth putting someone's safety at risk.

Please slow down - our village is a community, not a race track.
