When storing your logs make sure the log store is placed in a sunny spot and raised of the floor and the logs are stacked to allow air flow through them this helps with the moisture content. Check the moisture content before burning to make sure its less than 20% burning wet logs can be dangerous. When buying logs always look for the ready to burn logo. Always make sure you have your Chimney swept twice a year click on the link below to find a chimney sweep:

The Logo and Certificate Number are legal requirement in England but will possibly be used by retailers in Wales and Scotland although not needed by law.
