Our mission has always been to help racers and young race engineers achieve their full potential. Our work with Students from Swansea Metropolitan University and The National Motorsports College, helps us to provide the best technical support for our riders while raising the standards in British racing.

Some will already know that things have been changing and developing at Motrac Race Engineering. We have some really big projects outside of racing and motorcycles which has evolved into a separate business. So now it's time for further changes! We have so many great customers and we want to look after them and support them. I would welcome expressions of interest to take Motrac Racing forward into the future. So if you have aspirations of running / owning a long established, successful, trusted motorsport business or believe it could strengthen your existing business, then let's talk. This has been a 40 year adventure! I am privileged to have met, been inspired and supported by some great people. There have been some truly amazing projects along the way. I have laughed and I have cried. There have been lots of successes and a few failures to learn from but I never stopped moving forward. It has been great to have played a part in the future of so many talented youngsters that have gone on to great things, whether on the racetrack or professionally. New adventures now beckon so onwards and upwards it is!

We seem to be getting more and more of these nice Porsche air-cooled cylinders in to recondition. These are typical and great to work with. However it hasn't always been that way, we once had a guy bring his Porsche 911 cylinders in and proclaim he had "reconditioned his old pistons"! He had grit blasted them and painted them with some gloop afterwards, and left plenty of grit on the pistons (and in the paint)!! We had to help him understand the errors of his ways and point him to some nice new pistons! Oh the fun! I often wonder how that rebuild went?

It is not every day that you get featured in your absolute favourite publication! The guys at Race Engine Technology (RET) had heard of the many years of work we have put into race engine development, and understood the long, unseen hours and passion that goes with it. In this article they focus on F2 sidecar engines. We have for many years been building some of the best and consistently most successful race engines with attention to detail at the centre of it all. Matt Grant from RET visited Motrac Race Engineering just before Christmas to compile the article. A really interesting and knowledgeable guy with background in and the glory days of . As you can imagine, there was a lot of techy chat and much coffee drinking that day!! The result is a five page feature and a rather tired looking mugshot of yours truly!

Honestly, despite featuring in this edition this racing journal is a fascinating publication, produced by High Power Media. They cover just about every form of motorsport and it is a great source of expertise, technological insights and suppliers. Well worth a read!

I'm having a winter clearout (doesn't everyone do this between Christmas and New Year)? Anyway one of my engine dynos needs a new home. I got distracted by other projects so this one can go!

Description: Schenck W130, Water-cooled, Eddy Current Dynamometer. Capacity 130KW, 10,000RM shaft speed. This dyno is an Industrial quality unit, has previously been used in a world-leading research establishment and always professionally maintained. It was only taken out of service as it developed a water leak. For Sale £1500 Sold as seen. Can be collected from Chester area (UK) or shipping arranged at additional cost. DM if interested.

Alternatively should anyone want a complete, fully functional, engine testbed, system with controls etc we build systems to order. Just send a direct message as I have a few good options available.
