Don’t Do This!!

But why - all be it an innocent mistake this M22 fitting seal me mechanically on an oring and cone. It does not rely on the threads to make a water tight seal unlike a tapered thread would do.

PTFE on tapered threads is perfectly acceptable (not on fuel systems however) but on parallel threads PTFE tape is a No No.

As shown with the jet wash coupling this seals with a bonded seal on a parallel thread.
