e2v’s apprenticeship scheme brings you into contact with the systems and products that lie at the core of our rapidly evolving business. These include components and products for markets such as thermal imaging cameras for firefighters, imaging devices for medical, science, industrial, space and astronomy and many more. We offer apprenticeships at our Chelmsford and Lincoln sites. During the three
-year scheme we will help you to develop new skills and techniques. You will receive extensive practical experience as well as recognised qualifications to provide the foundations for a successful career in engineering. An e2v apprenticeship gives you the opportunity to work with a skilled team across a variety of engineering and technical disciplines. In your first year you will complete a minimum of 22 weeks of full time training at college. After this you will continue to study on a day release basis towards your technical certificate from a range of Engineering disciplines – typically a BTEC National Certificate (NC). Whilst on work placements in various parts of the business, you will become familiar with the technologies and processes of the Company. At the same time, you will have opportunities to develop your problem solving and communication skills and as well as your team working abilities. Day release study for your technical certificate will continue throughout your apprenticeship with those most successful going on to study for the HNC. As you build your experience through a series of practical placements, your training will be extended to cover quality management, training techniques and project management. In the final year of the programme, participants who have completed the NC will become qualified Technicians, while those continuing with the HNC qualification will become Technician Engineers.
