We are seeking a reliable and professional Full Time Pick Up Driver to join our family run builders merchant. The successful candidate will be responsible for safely collecting and delivering goods, ensuring timely service, and maintaining excellent communication with clients and team members. The ideal applicant will possess strong driving skills, experience in commercial driving, and the ability to handle physical tasks such as heavy lifting. You must be an enthusiastic and sociable person. We take great pride in delivering a qaulity service to Carlisle and surrounding areas.
❗Responsibilities
🔴Safely operate company vehicles to pick up and deliver goods across designated routes
🔴Ensure all deliveries are completed on time and in accordance with company standards
🔴Conduct routine vehicle inspections and report any maintenance issues promptly
🔴Assist with loading and unloading items, including heavy or bulky goods
🔴Maintain accurate records of deliveries, pickups, and mileage
🔴Communicate effectively with the deliveries manager, customers, and team members regarding schedules or issues
🔴Follow all safety protocols and traffic regulations during operations
🔴Keep the vehicle clean and well-maintained at all times
❗Skills and requirements
Fork lift license preferred
🟡A go to attitude, bright and cheerful
🟡A knowledge of building and landscaping materials would be a great advantage
🟡Proven delivery driver experience
🟡Valid driver’s licence
🟡Experience in commercial driving and warehouse operations is advantageous
🟡Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently when required, this is a physically demanding role
🟡Excellent communication skills to interact professionally with customers and colleagues
🟡Strong organisational skills to manage schedules and paperwork effectively
🟡Good knowledge of local routes and traffic laws
🟡This role is essential for ensuring smooth logistical operations within our organisation. We value punctuality, safety awareness, and excellent customer service from our drivers.
Working Hours
Monday - Friday 7.15am - 5.00pm
Alternate Saturdays - 7.30am - 12pm (working in a buddy system)
