We’re happy to announce that we are now the Official Engineering Partner of Carlisle United Football Club ⚽

Working together is about more than football - we’ll be supporting careers, apprenticeships, sustainability initiatives and community engagement across Cumbria, alongside increasing Hardtech’s presence at Brunton Park throughout the 2026/27 season.

Lights. Camera. Action. 🎭

We’re proud to be supporting the delivery of a theatre refurbishment for a leisure centre, with works focused on lighting and electrical installations throughout the space.

From ceiling LED systems and emergency lighting to general lighting and dressing room fit-outs, our team is working carefully to help bring both function and atmosphere together ahead of the safe completion of works in the coming months.

It’s always fantastic playing a part in projects that will soon be enjoyed by the wider community - we’re looking forward to seeing this one come to life. ✨

Brilliant to see DJBR U11’s enjoying a fantastic season on the pitch.

We’ve been happy to help get the lads kitted out with new home and training gear, alongside Norris Construction who sorted their rain jackets.

A new name. A stronger group. The same team you trust.

As of 20th April, PK Engineering is now Hardtech Engineering Services (North) Ltd.

This marks the final step in bringing our businesses together under one unified brand within the Hardtech Engineering Services Group - alongside Cronshaw Electrical Limited and Hardtech HV.

For our clients and partners, it’s very much business as usual. The same people, the same approach, and the same commitment to delivering high-quality work.

What’s new is how we move forward - as part of a more integrated group, with the addition of Hardtech HV capability and closer alignment across our teams.

We’ll also be launching our new website in the coming days, bringing everything together under one roof.

We’re excited for what’s ahead and proud to continue delivering as Hardtech Engineering Services (North).

Another wrap from the team... a shrink-wrap, this time around 👀

We’re pleased to share the completion of a recent project delivering the electrical installation of a new shrink-wrapping machine and associated ancillary equipment for a valued customer.

The work included installing containment systems, power distribution, and data cabling to support the new equipment, including a 200 kW power supply for the shrink-wrapper and connections to conveyors, logopacks, and workstations.

All terminations were completed within distribution boards and switch panels, fully integrated into the existing electrical infrastructure.

The project wrapped up (👀) with thorough inspection, testing, and commissioning support to ensure the system operates reliably and seamlessly within the customer’s production environment.

And… it’s a wrap 💫🏛️

It’s been a privilege for our team to support the renovation of this historic building, working alongside our main contractor and fellow sub-contractors - culminating in LEVELS Whitehaven opening its doors last week!

Over three levels plus a basement, the building has been transformed into an interactive social and learning space for 9-14-year-olds, complete with esports and VR gaming, a motion capture “green room,” an audio suite, flexible IT learning areas, and spaces for relaxation and collaboration.

Our team delivered the mechanical and electrical services, from power distribution and lighting to heating, cooling, ventilation, and IT systems, while keeping sustainability in focus through PV panels and fabric enhancements.

Seeing the building complete, with all our M&E systems in place and working as designed, makes all the planning and effort worthwhile. The space is now ready for young people to use safely and confidently.

Transforming a Grade II Listed Building for the Next Generation 🏛️⚡️

The PK Engineering team is proud to be supporting the redevelopment of a Grade II listed landmark, soon to become an interactive social and learning space for 9-14-year-olds.

Working closely with the main contractor, we’re delivering the mechanical and electrical services needed to bring the project to life. With around one month to go, progress on site is moving steadily.

The building will house esports rooms, VR and IT learning spaces, a motion capture studio, an audio suite, relaxation areas, consultation rooms, and a public café - all supported by new LV supplies and distribution, lighting and controls, data systems, fire and security systems, ventilation, heating, cooling, and hot and cold water services.

It’s rewarding to help give a historic building a new purpose - creating a safe, modern, and inspiring space for young people in the community.

More updates to come as we head into the final phase.

Electrical Works in Progress - Library Redevelopment 📚

Our Electrical team is making great progress on the refurbishment of a library building, creating enhanced library and digital services spaces.

The photos highlight works already completed on the electrical scope, including general lighting, lighting controls, emergency lighting, and general power - key elements in making the building safe, efficient, and future proof.

This forms part of a wider scope of works, which also includes fire and security systems, structured cabling, mechanical services, and BMS controls. It’s all designed to deliver a modern, engaging, and functional space for staff and visitors.

It’s exciting to see the transformation taking shape and the spaces starting to come alive!

A throwback to... ☀️🥾
..a great day for the PK Engineering team up in Keswick, where the whole company came together for annual our 'All Hands' event.

We started the morning with a team walk - a chance to connect, chat, and take in the views before heading into a two-hour Town Hall session.

The afternoon was all about strategy, alignment, and preparing for the future - making sure everyone across the business is moving in the same direction.

It’s not just about the work we do, but the people who make it happen. Days like this remind us of the strength of the team and the shared purpose driving PK Engineering forward. 🙌
