Our ParkerTools Warehouse & Quality Control Manager, Tom Rankine, stepped up to the mat last weekend for a 24-hour Krav Maga Marathon, organised by the local club, AMK Martial Arts & Krav Maga.

This event was the first of its kind at AMK and aimed to raise funds through sponsorship to support the club’s active prevention of violence towards women and girls through practical self-defence training and women’s safety workshops. The participants were kept busy during their 24 hours with guest instructors, technical Krav work, tactical first aid sessions, and even Krav Maga dodgeball and football! At the end of this gruelling marathon, everyone who took part was awarded their next belt as a tribute to their mindset and the dedication that helped them to push through.

Our ParkerSteel Limitedand ParkerTools divisions were proud to sponsor this brilliant event, which raised over £10,000, surpassing the initial fundraising target! We are exceptionally proud of Tom for the effort, grit and dedication he showed throughout the marathon, and a massive well done to everyone who participated and earned their next belt!

Training with purpose!

Our ParkerTools Warehouse & Quality Control Manager, Tom Rankine, is taking on a major challenge on March 28th, participating in a 24-hour training marathon organised by the locally based club, AMK Martial Arts & Krav Maga.
The event is more than just a physical endurance test, however, as it will raise funds for new training and safety equipment to support the club’s active prevention of violence through practical self-defence training and women’s safety workshops that teach awareness, confidence and real-world prevention strategies.

Farewell to a ParkerSteel legend!

After a remarkable 43 years at ParkerSteel Limited, our Purchasing Director, Gary Axford, is leaving to begin his well-earned retirement, and his career journey has been an incredibly rare one. At just 16 years old, he joined our company and tirelessly worked his way through the ranks to eventually become a Director and an irreplaceable part of our team.

Throughout the years, his deep understanding of both the business and the people within it have seen ParkerSteel through enormous industry shifts and countless challenges, and he leaves behind a unique legacy that few can boast of.

His impact goes far beyond ParkerSteel, however, as outside of work, he is also an integral part of his community. As the founder of Faversham Strike Force Football Club, Gary has volunteered more than 5,000 personal hours to this local football club, which now has over 600 playing members and a variety of inclusive programmes, including youth and adult recreational sessions, disability sessions and social inclusion projects.

It goes without saying that Gary will be missed, both for his tremendous knowledge of the industry, but also his leadership and consistent dedication. As he moves on to this next chapter, we would like to sincerely thank him for his years of service and congratulate him on a long and well-deserved retirement.

Last Friday, we were delighted to host our annual Long Service Awards at ParkerSteel Limited to recognise and reward the commitment of those who have reached significant career milestones at our company.

Colleagues from all our departments gathered in our Canterbury Sales Office to celebrate our long servers, and ParkerSteel’s CFO, James Hodgson, presented the awards. Each recipient took home a custom-made trophy, including our Sales Director, Melvin Slight, who reached an impressive 20 years! Following the awards, our whole team celebrated the end to another year with a festive spread of food and drinks.

Special thanks to Kent Awards for crafting the beautiful trophies for our staff, and congratulations to all of our long-serving employees! We truly appreciate the hard work and dedication you have given to our company over the years!

ParkerSteel Limited were delighted to collaborate with LTR Welding Services Ltd on the comprehensive refurbishment of Rainham Station’s platforms, a brilliant team effort that showcased the power and precision of our processing machines.

We supplied over 70 tonnes of structural steel and plate for this project, putting our processing capabilities to full use to execute the high-quality components. Well done to all those involved in this project, and special thanks to ParkerSteel’s Sales Director, Melvin Slight, and Kelly Goss, our Senior Sales Developer, who collaborated with Lee Richardson from LTR Welding Services to ensure everything was completed on time, to specification and to the highest standard.

We are proud to have played a part in strengthening Rainham Station and enhancing the customer experience for years to come!

ParkerSteel Limited were delighted to sponsor the 2025 Bat & Trap Charity Tournament at Whitstable Cricket Ground, an annual event that supports a variety of charitable causes. This year, the tournament raised money for Porchlight, a Canterbury-based charity that provides life-changing support to help people break the cycle of homelessness.

Bat & Trap is a pub game with similarities to cricket that is played almost exclusively in Kent. The Canterbury & District Bat & Trap League has been a part of the community since 1922, and the premier, Terry Brockman, is a long-serving employee who has been with ParkerSteel for twenty-three years. The tournament had a fantastic turnout, with 17 teams participating and a significant amount of money raised for Porchlight. It was truly a pleasure to support Terry in this worthy cause and give back to our community in a meaningful way.
