"How many AMRs do I require?"

It's one of the first questions we're asked when a customer starts exploring Autonomous Mobile Robots — and it's a smart place to start. The number you deploy affects both the performance of your operation and the cost of your project.

The honest answer? There's no single magic number. It comes down to how much you need to move, how far it has to travel, and how quickly it all needs to happen.

A quick rule of thumb to get you started: for every forklift operator currently moving your pallets, you'll typically need around 1 to 1.5 AMRs or AGVs. And charging needn't worry you — the robots take themselves off to charge automatically during quiet spells, so a normal single shift often runs without any dedicated charging time at all.
