Providing both a comprehensive subcontract service and also machine/process sales accompanied by a wealth of problem solving expertise, the company has become one of the UK’s foremost one-stop shops for superfinishing. Well-equipped inspection and quality control ensures all deburred, edge honed, smoothed, micro finished and polished components meet exacting standards. Certification includes ISO9001 and AS9100. Since 1997 Fintek have been the UK official agent for OTEC Präzisionsfinish GmbH. Their machine technology has transformed areas previously dominated by traditional vibratory and manual finishing processes. Fintek offer OTEC equipment along with a full service to help engineers find the right combination of machine, media and process time to achieve the required surface finish for their part. This is backed by ongoing consultancy, preventative maintenance and if needed the full worldwide expertise of OTEC. Fintek have become exclusive UK agent for the RENA Hirtisation® process to automate surface finishing of additively manufactured parts - removing AM support structures, powder cake and residues, partially melted grains, finishing deep cavities, undercuts and other design intricacies inherent in many 3D printed parts. The process can also smooth and edge hone. The RENA H-Series range can handle all common 3D printed metals and alloys, with the larger H12000 automating the finishing of the output of up to 25 3D printers.

Investing in automated surface finishing equipment? Start with the component, not the machine. That’s the important messages behind the new OTEC and Fintek feature published by Aerospace Manufacturing https://bit.ly/4i8wsyW

Aerospace components can demand very distinct combinations of media, movement, process cycles and workholding. OTEC Präzisionsfinish GmbH develops finishing processes around the material, starting condition, component geometry and required result.

And in the UK, Fintek can help aerospace manufacturers take the risk out of capital investment by:
☑️ Trialling representative components
☑️ Developing and proving the finishing process
☑️ Demonstrating repeatable results
☑️ Helping transfer the proven process into your own production environment
☑️ Supplying and supporting OTEC surface finishing equipment

The result is a much stronger route from “Can we automate this?” to repeatable in-house production. Choose OTEC and Fintek for your next aerospace surface finishing challenge.

In motorsport, fractions of a second matter. So does friction! Gears, camshafts, crankshafts, clutch components and many other highly loaded parts are pushed close to their limits in competition.

Fintek's advanced superfinishing services produce exceptionally smooth, repeatable surfaces - better than Ra 0.05µm and, on suitable components, down to Ra 0.01µm.

The performance benefits for race engineers include:
🏁 Reduced friction and wear
🏁 Improved component durability
🏁 Greater reliability under extreme loads
🏁 Consistent finishing without the variability of hand processes
🏁 Deburring, smoothing, edge radiusing and polishing within highly controlled processes

🏎️Fintek works closely with motorsport engineers to develop the right finishing process for individual components and performance targets.

Better cutting-tool performance starts at the edge. A freshly ground but excessively sharp edge can be brittle and vulnerable to chipping. Controlled edge rounding creates a stronger, more reliable cutting edge. Smoothing the flutes helps chips and lubricant move more efficiently.

Fintek offers two routes to improved tool performance:
⚙️ Purchase an OTEC Präzisionsfinish GmbH DF or SF finishing machine for repeatable in-house production
📦 Use Fintek’s subcontract service for immediate access without capital investment

Prove the process, improve tool quality and choose the solution that fits your production requirements. Contact Fintek to discuss your cutting tools and finishing targets: 01706 825819

✈️ Farnborough will showcase the future of aerospace. But everyday production bottlenecks still need practical solutions. One aerospace manufacturer was experiencing serious production delays because connectors with complex external threads had to be deburred by hand.

Fintek tested the components, manufactured the necessary tooling and developed a repeatable OTEC Präzisionsfinish GmbH stream-finishing process. In only five minutes per component, the process achieved:

☑️ Reliable deburring
☑️ Precise edge radiusing
☑️ Controlled surface smoothing
☑️ Consistent, repeatable quality
☑️ Fintek then cleared the entire backlog in just three days

Though not at Farnborough International Airshow, Fintek support aerospace manufacturers with AS/EN9100-certified subcontract finishing from initial trials and one-off components to scaled production. Read the full aerospace case study: https://bit.ly/4wIkuzZ
