We’re a local Branch of one of the UK’s largest friendly societies, the Oddfellows, which has a 200-year-plus tradition of creating opportunities for people to meet up and make friends, as well as supporting its members in times of need. We’re a not-for-profit, mutual society, where we’re run by our members, for our members. We’re based at Oddfellows Hall in Burton upon Trent. We run events and ha

ve members across our District which stretches from Uttoxeter in the west through Burton upon Trent to Swadlincote (south Derbyshire) in the east down to Tamworth & Lichfield. We host inexpensive social events as well as one-off special activities. Why not ‘like’ our page and we’ll keep you posted on what’s coming up and how you can get involved. These are just some the regular events that we hold at the Unity Hall in All Saint Road, Burton. Everyone is welcome to attend. Badminton – every Monday & Wednesday morning at 9.30am-12.00 noon. Monday evenings, 7pm-9pm. If you want to keep fit for fun, come & have a friendly game. Short Mat Bowls – every Wednesday at 2pm-4pm. A chance to make new friends and enjoy a gentle sport – with a break for refreshments and a chat. All playing equipment is provided; all you need are flat shoes. 25p per week for the refreshments. Reading Oddfellows' 'guardian angel' Richard West is this year's winner of the Enriching Lives Socially Making a Difference Award - congratulations Richard! 😇

Richard started and hosts a number of much-loved events, such as singing and exercise groups, and has even helped to resurrect a group that folded which is now thriving.

Thursday 28th May, District Officers Bro Aaron Mountford Prov DGM & Bro Mervyn Eaton Prov CS along with Sister Amanda Mountford PPGM, attend the funeral of Bro Alfred Joseph Conway at St Wilfrid's Church, Alford, Lincolnshire.
Bro Alfred was the oldest member of the Orphans Protection Lodge at the age of 100, he was also the last remaining recipient of the Burma Star Medal, living in Lincolnshire. RIP Alfred.
