Recycled Plastic Lumber | Timber | Wood Products are made entirely from Waste Plastic collected from UK homes and businesses. We manufacture and distribute maintenance free recycled plastic lumber and plastic wood for use in the building and construction industries as well as outdoor furniture for parks, gardens, schools and nurseries. Our recycled plastic products are used for fencing and gates,
outdoor play equipment, patio and garden furniture, raised beds, composters and planters and for any application where wood, steel, virgin plastic or concrete might have been the traditional choice. During manufacture, recycled plastic produces 250% less carbon dioxide (CO2) than production of virgin plastic. CO2 is a greenhouse gas produced by burning carbon based fossil fuels and contributes significantly to global warming and climate change. Kedel's recycled plastic products keep many tonnes of waste plastic out of landfill sites and incinerators, and helps protect the environment and wildlife from the damaging effects of discarded plastic waste. There is no earthly reason to throw plastic away, as it can be recycled repeatedly to provide a wide range of very useful maintenance free products such as those we manufacture at Kedel. The products we create are made from discarded virgin plastics. Keeping plastic out of landfill helps the environment as it can take a lifetime if not longer to degrade. Polystyrene for example, such as that used in CD cases and coat hangers can take more than 450 years to degrade, and that's a scientists guestimate. At Kedel we use many tonnes of crushed CD cases to make our plastic wood which has the look and feel of real wood, but the durability and maintenance free properties that have made plastic so popular. Our products come in a variety of colours, which is added during the manufacturing process, eliminating the need for recurring painting schedules.
