The most beloved of all JDM vans is the Mazda Bongo Frendee and its rebadged counterpart, the Ford Freda, by a country mile. Factory fitted with an automatic roof and fold out double bed, some even came out of the factory with Mazda branded kitchens! This camper has become synonymous with outdoor lifestyle, surf and skate culture thanks to its funky styling and colours. Combine that with its comfort and reliability, it becomes clear as to why. All Bongos and Ford Freda’s in the UK are imports yet they make up more than 0.03% of all UK vehicles which just goes to show how incredibly popular they are.

Available with automatic and manual gear boxes, 2WD and 4WD drivetrains and option of engines from 2L straight four up to a mighty 2.5l V6 which produces a maximum of 203 brake horse power.

Over the past year Frentech Braking has been a proud sponsor of William Chadwick in partnership with Green Genie Rebuilds. Will has proven himself to be a fierce competitor and a respected racer.

Throughout the past season and the current season, the number 88 has been unavoidable in the BRSCC. Battling with engine troubles last year meant that he could not show off his talent. This years has been a different story.

Proving his mettle, Chadwick has battled through the pack gaining multiple podiums at Croft and pushing his car to the limits to gain 18 places at Anglesey, just missing the podium.

Heavily based off the lightweight, British built sports cars from days gone by, Mazda brought the fun back onto its roads. Originally sold domestically as the Eunos MX-5, it quickly became clear that this was a massive hit with petrol heads and driving enthusiast so Mazda took the name back and began exporting its happy faced roadster worldwide. Now there are more than a million all over the world.

Customisation is huge in the MX-5 scene, even from the factory. Different engine sizes, body styles, roof options and brake caliper sizes over four generations encourages the uniqueness of every car that leaves the factory.

The Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution, the only car to threaten the dominance of the Subaru Impreza during the late 1990’s WRC. A car that was so technologically advanced that it is still considered futuristic by todays car enthusiast. Complicated four-wheel drive systems that made the Evo handle extremely well, even on loose gravel, mud and snow. The famous Tommi Makinen solidified this cars status as an icon of rally history and motorsports rivalry so well that there are rare collectors’ editions named after him.

The roadgoing versions and later models are no less impressive, featuring active yaw control, Recaro race seats, Brembo brakes and high-tech suspensions systems. There is a massive cult following for the Evo and it is no surprise as to why with it appearing in many films such as fast and furious and even video games like need for speed.
