With the confirmed quotas now in effect, the overall picture remains largely unchanged.

The UK continues to see:
• A 70% reduction in duty-free allowance for stainless steel welded tubes
• A 30% reduction for stainless steel box section

These additional costs will continue to be felt throughout the supply chain.

At present, there remains no clear evidence that UK production capacity can replace the reduction in imported material, making careful planning increasingly important for manufacturers and distributors.
