Modern LCVs are increasingly equipped with a range of auxiliary services such as telemetry, cameras, communications systems, and tail lifts. However, vehicle and auxiliary batteries are currently not equipped to handle these growing power demands.

As a result, many vehicle engines are forced to idle to provide additional power, leading to issues such as flat batteries and shortened battery lifespans for operators. It's important to note that idling your vehicle engine unnecessarily while stationary is considered an offence under the Road Traffic (Vehicle Emissions) (Fixed Penalty) (England) Regulations 2002.

One effective solution to this problem is the use of solar panels. Solar technology has long been proven as a reliable method of harnessing power from the sun. By incorporating our solar products into your fleet, you can not only improve reliability but also demonstrate your commitment to environmental sustainability.

Our solar solutions will:

🔋 Improve battery health
📉 Reduce total cost of ownership
🌳 Reduce carbon emissions
âš¡ Protect EV performance

You're putting your drivers and passengers at risk every day!!

Have you checked your fleet vehicles' first aid kits recently?

Commercial vehicles face far greater risks of serious accidents compared to the average commuter car. Without proper emergency medical supplies on board, injuries can quickly escalate when incidents do occur.

Our latest blog post outlines the essentials when it comes to stocking first aid kits for trucks, and other fleet vehicles. We provide details on key supplies needed beyond basic personal car kits, like sterile dressings, instant cold packs, and coagulant pads.

Reverse Warnings and Safety for Commercial Vehicles https://hubs.ly/Q02hzB1n0

Enhancing Fleet Safety through Reverse safety systems

Reverse accidents in light commercial vehicles can be mitigated through supplemental safety systems. We recommend exploring options like:

- Rear view cameras to eliminate blind spots
- Parking sensors to detect objects in tight spaces
- Reverse alarms to audibly warn the driver and pedestrians

Choosing the right equipment requires assessing the vehicles, operations, regulations and risk exposures. By taking a tailored approach, we identify targeted solutions to optimize maneuvering, enhance visibility, and protect drivers and assets in a cost-effective manner.

Ensuring Fire Safety in Your Small Commercial Vehicle Fleet

The safety of your business relies greatly on implementing proper fire safety measures for your commercial vehicle fleet. Fires can lead to severe losses, so priority #1 is prevention.

Be sure to equip each vehicle with the right type and size of fire extinguisher based on potential hazards. Proper mounting and accessibility are key - 2kg ABC dry powder extinguishers stored in the cab is a good minimum.

Carrying out routine maintenance checks, servicing, recharging and replacing expired extinguishers on schedule is crucial for them to work as intended.

But even perfectly functioning equipment is only half the story. Employee training on using extinguishers and fire emergency procedures can make all the difference in an actual incident.

By making vehicle fire safety a top priority with prevention, preparedness and training, you are taking every step to avoid disasters and safeguard your staff and operations. It's an investment well worth making.

Read the detailed fire safety guidelines to make your business and fleet safe.

As a Fleet Manager, it is crucial to prioritise the safety of your operators while they are out in the field.

One very important aspect of their wellbeing, is adherence to the Work at Height Regulations (2005).

In 2022/2023, 135 workers were killed in work-related accidents (RIDDOR), of which 40 of these fatalities were due to falling from height.

In terms of injuries from falls from height, the latest figures are estimated to be around 35,000, up from around 25,000 in the previous period.

Over 17% of all falls from height occur on vehicles or forklift trucks.

With our extensive 50-year expertise delivering conversion solutions for fleet operators across the country, and utilising our successful approach of Consult, Create, Construct, Deliver, we are here to assist in guaranteeing that your vehicles are not only well-suited for their intended purpose but are, most importantly, safe.

We offer a variety of safety features such as fall arrest safety bars, side steps, grab handles, and safety chains to ensure that your vehicles provide a secure working environment.
