Our Bristol Service Centre has a vacancy for an Apprentice Warehouse Operative. Perfect for anyone looking to learn the skills necessary to work effectively and safely in warehouse environments and understand the fundamentals of the supply chain industry.

As a SC21 Silver Award holder and AS 9100 REV D and AS 9120 REV B licensed site, Righton Blackburns Bristol is an ideal location to get hands on experience in materials supply.

The only requirements for the role are that applicants must be over the age of 16, preferably with a GSCE grade 3/D in Maths and English.

This will lead to a level 2 apprenticeship certification from the Education and Skills Funding Agency.

Our Plymouth service centre yesterday held a bake sale for a local charity, The Core youth and community centre in Saltash. The whole team got wholeheartedly involved and raised £372.60.

As well as the money, the team donated boxes and boxes of toys, games, arts & craft supplies, sports equipment, and cuddly toys for The Core's after school clubs.

The whole event was devised and organised by the team and the staff at The Core were blown away by the generosity.

Despite being a very lightweight metal, even when alloyed, aluminium still accounts for 80% of the weight of an average modern aircraft.

Why are aluminium alloys so popular in aerospace engineering? Their strength-to-weight-to-cost ratio is unbeatable and the inherent corrosion resistance of aluminium extends the lifespan of the aircraft and reduces maintenance costs.

Different alloys are useful for different applications; 4342 for example is ideal for structural elements in the fuselage due to its strength, toughness, and its ability to withstand stress. Whereas in the wings, ribs and tension members are often made from 7075, due to its higher tensile strength and lower weight.
