*** # # # SCAM ALERT # # #***

On Thursday of last week we received a phone call from 07517674257. This was a gentleman claiming to be a high court enforcement officer by the name of Stephen Ainsley.
He asked for the managing director by name and informed us he would be attending our property to issue a high court writ in 45 minutes.
He said we owed a sum of £4358.17 + court fees of £991.26 to a company named Media Base. He gave us a case reference number, dates of the unpaid bills and supposed missed court dates as well as giving us a number to ring the court of 01244 561820 (opt 2) to query this as he had given us an old business address. He asked us to call him immediately after we had done this to confirm it had been done. When we rung this number it seemed official and assume now that the person that answered was an accomplice waiting to take the money. We immediately hung up and called the police and were advised by them to report it to the fraud department.
