We’re proud to share that AMS Nuclear has secured a Tier 1 framework to support the delivery of Hinkley Point C - one of the UK’s most significant infrastructure and clean energy projects.

This achievement reinforces our position as a trusted delivery partner in the nuclear sector and reflects the dedication, expertise and commitment of our team. We’re excited to play a key role in supporting the successful delivery of this landmark project.

As we continue our work at Hinkley Point C, we also recognise that many of the requirements and solutions developed here are expected to carry through to Sizewell C. Building on our experience, capability and delivery performance at HPC, we are well positioned to support future programmes as they progress.

This is an important step forward for AMS Nuclear and a strong contribution to the UK’s sustainable, secure energy future.

Congratulations to everyone involved, a fantastic achievement.

AMS Nuclear has successfully delivered a full suite of nuclear safety-critical gas measurement systems to Hinkley Point C; a key milestone in supporting the UK’s largest nuclear construction project.

The systems were designed, qualified, manufactured, tested and delivered to meet stringent nuclear safety, ATEX, environmental and operational requirements. They will play a vital role in monitoring Hydrogen and Oxygen concentration within the primary coolant circuit.

Next up: delivery of flow proportional samplers to support environmental monitoring under Hinkley Point C’s Radioactive Substances Regulation (RSR) Permit.

AMS Nuclear is proud to be contributing to clean energy, Net Zero goals and the future of UK power generation.

Safety-critical Control for Fusion Research Environments

AMS Nuclear designed and delivered a Safety Instrumented System (SIS) panel for a laboratory-scale fusion materials test rig at the University of Liverpool, working in collaboration with the National Physical Laboratory (NPL).

The SIS provides continuous monitoring of key process parameters and initiates a fail-safe shutdown if predefined limits are exceeded. This protects personnel, experimental equipment and research integrity during high-risk test conditions.

The system integrates multiple safety inputs, including thermocouples, gas detection and oxygen monitoring, with validated safety logic and SIL1 reliability targets. The panel was designed to interface cleanly with existing laboratory infrastructure and incorporates a dedicated LV power distribution section and a clear HMI with status indication, alarms and E-stop functionality.

Designed, manufactured and factory-tested by AMS Nuclear engineers, the solution complies with relevant British and European standards and was delivered to a demanding commissioning schedule.

This project demonstrates our approach to engineering safety-critical EC&I systems that perform reliably, first time.
