Recent Surfacing Works Completed Across the South West!

RK Bell Projects’ Surfacing Department has built long-standing relationships across the South West through consistent delivery, reliable service and a practical approach to programme and cost management.

Over recent weeks, the team has completed surfacing works at:
📍 Creech St Michael, Somerset – Footpath surfacing works for Otter Construct Limited. Works were delivered with careful planning to maintain safe access for residents throughout the programme.
📍 National Grid Substation, Sidmouth – Surfacing works for A.I & Z.A Grant Ltd within a live operational infrastructure environment in Sidmouth requiring controlled delivery and close coordination on site.
📍 Hanham, Bristol – Surfacing works for Cinwood Limited at a new development site in Hanham, Bristol, completed efficiently within a one-day programme.

From public-facing footpaths through to operational infrastructure environments, our ability to mobilise quickly and deliver efficiently remains critical for clients operating in live environments and active developments.

These projects were supported through RK BELL GROUP's wider operational structure, including in-house plant, transport and logistics capability, alongside our long-standing supply chain partners.

Project Completion | Footpath Rejuvenation

RK Bell Projects has completed a footpath resurfacing scheme in Fivehead, Somerset, delivered for our client, Abri.

The works involved planing the existing surface, adjusting ironwork and reinstating with a 30mm AC6 dense surface course, installed by hand to ensure a consistent finish and long-term durability.

This was a residential scheme with a high proportion of elderly residents, so the programme was structured to maintain access at all times. Works were delivered in controlled sections, with removal, adjustment and reinstatement completed within the same day to minimise disruption and eliminate trip hazards. This approach required careful planning, disciplined delivery and strong site supervision, ensuring both safety and continuity for residents throughout the programme.

The team’s conduct and the quality of the finished works were well received by the local community, with residents taking the time to thank operatives on site. We also received a card from a resident, shown in the photo.

Behind every infrastructure project and early morning start is a person who once had a school photo, a favourite jumper and maybe a haircut they would rather forget 😊

People have always been the foundation of RK Bell.
We are also sharing a photograph from the 1940s of our founder Mr R.K. Bell himself, on one of the company’s very first tractors - a reminder of RK BELL GROUP's beginnings.

85 years later, the equipment has changed and the company has grown, but at the very heart of it remain its people.
