When space is limited 🦾
is running a Steelwrist X18 tiltrotator and SQ automatic coupler on his John Deere 130G, using a hoe-pac to compact backfill in a tight area.
The space was too narrow for his usual compaction wheel, and with electrical pipe buried underneath the sand, he needed to work carefully.
As Corey explains, before this setup, he’d be “messing around with a jumping jack, wrestling a trench roller in and out, or tracking back and forth constantly to get the compactor at the right angle” and not to mention getting out to manually detach and re-attach.
With the tiltrotator, he can square the compactor right up to the walls and make the adjustments from the cab.
“This job only took a few minutes, I barely had to track the machine, and I never had to leave the cab.”
It’s a good example of where a tiltrotator earns its keep, especially in tight spaces where getting the attachment into the right position would otherwise mean moving the whole machine.
Thank you, Corey, for being a Steelwrist ambassador and for showing us how your setup makes a difference in your everyday work.
