It's been a bit hectic over the last month at HJEHQ. It's getting to that time of year that both myself and Erika run the local Poppy Appeal and the workshop is filled with Poppy Appeal supplies for everywhere between Capel Curig and Trawsfynydd!

Whilst Erika was manning the laser, I've managed to get this done today, a replacment safety valve bonnet for a Roundhouse Vale of Rheidol loco. Details are in the captions for a step-by step guide on how it was done.

I also programmed a load of CNC programs, ready for a long day tomorrow, turning some custom wheels. Now the show season is over (for us at least!) We can get our teeth back into getting some long-term projects finished and out the door.

Now the dust has settled from the excellent Yorkshire Garden Railway Show at Elsecar, we've got a handful of our latest kits, the NWNGR Cleminson All Third Carriages in stock ready to dispatch!

These carriages can handle Peco Radius 1 curves (762mm or 30" Radius). They come with our usual detailed and illustrated instructions which explain how to assemble the kit.

The model does come with a roof and vents... i just haven't finished the display model yet!

On our way home from an excellent show at Elsecar. Thank you to The Yorkshire Group of 16mm Narrow Gauge Modellers Ltd for organising such a wonderful event! It's just a shame I didn't have much time to wonder around the venue a bit more.

The highlight for me was seeing this magnificent loco running on the Yorkshire Group's new layout, Fare to Middlin' and having a chat with the builder. It's nice seeing a accurate model of the Ngg16s!

It's 21:45 and that's the last part of the pre-ordered NWNGR Cleminson carriage kits cut. Early start tomorrow so I can write the instructions, pack the van and head up to set up at Elsecar, ready for the Yorkshire Garden Railway Show on Saturday.

Today's little job on the 3D printer, printing a load of pipe fittings to fit 16mm acrylic tubing for a local artist. She's making a display on how a local Community Heat Network works.

Tonight's project. A jig to hold cranks when machining.

The jig we currently use for machining our Baldwin Gas-Mechanical cranks takes a lot of time to set up, so this one has been designed and is currently being machined which will hopefully make machining the cranks a bit quicker.

Also, it the clamping parts can be changed if we decide to produce another type of crank in the future.

The Baldwin cranks are available on our website, as well as our spoked wheels for the same loco.
