Full job description:
Pay: £37,440 + Overtime
Base : Hambleton , Poulton Le Fylde
Location: Mobile across UK Mainly the North
Full-Time | Permanent
Industry: Plant, Agricultural & Heavy Machinery Engineering
What you’ll be doing:
Installation+Onsite repair and support of Engcon tilt-rotators
Carry out Repairs and Servicing to Units onsite and in the Workshop, Using laptops and diagnostic software to troubleshoot issues.
Reading and interpreting schematic diagrams
Working independently with a high level of responsibility and customer interaction
What we’re looking for:
Strong mechanical or engineering background with relevant qualifications, Experience in hydraulic and electrical systems.
Proven experience in fault finding and diagnostics across multiple systems
Ability to work independently
Willingness to travel across UK and have nights away
Comfortable using diagnostic tools and interpreting technical documentation
Open to candidates from varied engineering backgrounds, including automotive, plant, or agricultural sectors
Working hours & pay:
40 hour contract: Monday–Friday, 8:00am–5:00pm (with regular overtime) Overtime paid at 1.5x over 40 hours
Potential earnings with overtime: £48,500+

🚨 DEVELOPMENT UPDATE 🚨

We’ve recently been involved in early-stage trials of a new concept integrating the Engcon DC3 control system with neural input technology 🧠⚙️

The system works by pairing DC3 s proportional control capabilities with a wearable EEG interface, allowing operators to control tilt and rotation through interpreted brain signals.

Initial feedback from testing:
✔ Ultra-smooth proportional movement
✔ Reduced need for manual joystick input
✔ Improved fine control in tight grading work

The DC3 system translates neural signals into hydraulic commands in real time, maintaining the same precision and responsiveness operators are used to.

We are still refining a few areas:
– Signal interference when thinking about food
– Occasional over-rotation during site banter
– One instance of an unplanned trench during a tea break

Early days, but an exciting glimpse at where operator control could be heading.

We got called to this Cat C4.4 fitted to a screener which was filling the sump with coolant in Birmingham. Removed the oil cooler and replaced the same day. Changed the engine oil and ran up. 7 days later it started to get coolant in the Oil again. Back on site the next day with a water pump. we removed and found the telltale was blocked in the water-pump so instead of leaking it was forcing coolant into timing cover. Pump replaced oil changed and filter changed. Issue repaired.
