The Albion FC MOTM for our victory over FC Sandyforth at the start of the month was... CORY SELLERS 👏👏👏

Cory's regular position is in central midfield, but he dropped in at left-back for us and looked totally comfortable there. He was solid defensively, and always sought to get his foot on the ball and play us forwards.

For the game against Golden Eagle FC, our MOTM was... JACK TAYLOR 👏👏👏

With several players missing, JT stepped up for us when needed. He took over the captain's armband for the game and put in a commanding performance at centre-back.

The whole team deserves credit for the game against Highfield Social FC, but the MOTM went to... BEN ROLLINS 👏👏👏

Ben was always available for the pass off his defenders, retaining possession brilliantly, and getting the team on the front foot. He's become a really important player for us.

And our most recent MOTM is... BEN DRUMMOND 👏👏👏

Player-manager Ryan Searle had this to say about his performance:

"Drummond is a rock for us when available. His attitude is top-notch; he's physically dominant and wins his individual battles; and is so composed in possession. Social showed us the respect we have earned and rolled out a incredibly strong side, who would have beaten anyone in Lancashire in my opinion. But Ben stood firm, won his battles, and never let his head drop. With his physical presence, it’s easy to forget how young he still is, and he’ll only continue to develop. On his day, we believe he's one of the best centre-backs in the division."

We were able to navigate a tricky fixture on Sunday against BJFF Blades to progress to the next round of The Sunrise Travel Trophy.

With a late move to Common Edge due to a waterlogged pitch, several key players missing, and not enough match shirts for those available (!)... it felt like we could be in for a tough Sunday.

Luke Harris opened the scoring early 🧘 but BJFF came ready to play, and levelled the score midway through the half. The sides went in level at the interval, with the home team putting in a resilient, determined performance.

But half-time substitute Chae Pourilli changed the course of the game, with a poacher's finish within minutes of his introduction, on his way to a second half hat-trick.

Dec Bond was a nightmare on the right flank all game, and scored from a leaping header, while the ever-dangerous Luke Harris and Jackson Bateman completed hat-tricks of their own.

Unfortunately, our midfield general Joe Howarth was taken to A&E in the second half with an ankle injury, but it now looks better than first feared. We all wish him a speedy recovery 🩵

Every credit to a promising young BJFF Blades side, who kept the game very close for well over an hour, and best of luck for Phase 2 👍🏼
