Presentation stalls the second someone plugs in. Sound familiar?

In most shared meeting spaces and lecture halls, the culprit isn't the laptop, it's the HDMI adapter.

Modern devices lean on USB-C. Forcing that signal through an adapter chain adds a weak link that a direct HDMI cable never had.

The fix is simpler than expected: native USB-C inputs alongside HDMI at stage and desk positions. No adapters, no dropouts, no fumbling before a presentation. Just plug in and go, whatever device shows up.

When a room outgrows its layout, the fix isn't always a new system, it's a smarter one.

The Aspen Room's AV installation has just been relocated and reconfigured, with the equipment rack, amplifiers and mixers moved to a new position.

Cabling was extended for speakers, screen control, hearing loop and stage inputs, all while keeping the operating experience familiar for staff.

The result:
→ Sixteen additional mixer inputs
→ A new stage laptop connection
→ Far greater flexibility for how the room is used

A live demonstration with staff confirmed minimal disruption to day-to-day running.

A screen is only as good as the sound behind it.

TL Draw London had the visual side sorted with a new 98-inch commercial display, sharp enough for presentations and live sporting events across the whole room. But built-in TV speakers were never going to cut it in a space that size.

The fix wasn't a bigger speaker, it was smarter integration.

A Blustream DA11AU HDMI audio de-embedder now sits behind the display, pulling audio straight out of the HDMI signal and converting it to analogue stereo, feeding into the venue's Cloud 24-240 mixer-amp via twin RCA.

Every presentation, video and broadcast now plays through the existing loudspeaker system, with the same volume control and consistent coverage as everything else in the venue.

A local HDMI input plate keeps it simple for anyone presenting: plug in a laptop, no switcher, no fuss.
