We’re on a roll. πŸ˜„

With 24 sliding-head CNC lathes on the shop floor, we can run multiple jobs at once, each producing intricate turned components to specification.

Covering diameters from 3mm to 38mm, the machines give us the flexibility to support a wide range of component requirements.

Classics never die. πŸ™Œ

Meet our MicroSprint 26 - it’s been part of the workshop for years and, despite its age, it’s still well suited to straightforward repeat turning work.

Having the MicroSprint available means we can keep simpler turning work on the right machine, while leaving our multi-axis machines free for components that need their extra capabilities.

Right machine, right job, and after all these years, the MicroSprint 26 is still earning its place!

From start to finish, we help you streamline production. 🀝

Topping off our manufacturing service, our dedicated assembly team ensures every product is delivered ready to use, helping to reduce lead times and keep production moving.

By offering assembly alongside CNC turning and stockholding, our customers benefit from a simplified supply chain, less handling and the reassurance that every component and assembly is produced to the same stringent quality standards, giving you one less thing to manage.

We always thank our lucky stars that we get to walk into capacity like this every day! 🌟

With 24 Star sliding-head CNC lathes in our Birmingham factory, there’s rarely a quiet moment, with multiple jobs running across the shop floor at any one time.

That depth of capacity gives us the flexibility to accommodate repeat and high-volume production alongside more complex turned components, while allocating work across the machines to suit component size, specification and production requirements.

More machines, more flexibility and greater control over production schedules. πŸ‘Œ

This component is currently in the interrogation room... otherwise known as inspection. πŸ‘€

The TESA Scan 50 is checking every critical dimension against the original drawing before the rest of the batch gets the go-ahead.

Verifying parts at this stage means any issues can be identified early, helping maintain process control and ensuring production continues with confidence.

So far, it's answering all the right questions. πŸ˜…

No room on the shelf? We might have the answer...

Our free positive stockholding service helps manage demand by keeping your products ready and available when you need them.

With two large 2-storey stock rooms, we have the space to hold full pallets through to individual boxes, helping you keep production moving without having to fill your own storage space. πŸ™Œ

Inspection starts long before the final check!

As these turned components move through production, a digital micrometer is used to verify critical dimensions and confirm they're within specification. πŸ‘Œ

In-process measurement allows any variation to be identified before machining continues, helping maintain consistency across the batch and ensuring every component meets the required tolerance before moving to the next stage.

You could say we're a museum for sliding head machinery throughout time.

The BSA 88 single spindle automatics may be older machines, but they’re still in use every day and play an important role in making sure each component is produced on the right machine for its complexity and volume.

Having the cam autos available means we can run high volume, lower complexity parts on the right equipment, while keeping the CNC machines focused on more complex work where they’re best suited.

It’s all about having the right job on the right machine. πŸ‘

No wishing upon a lucky star needed when the SB-20R Type G is on the job. 🌟

With both sliding head 𝙖𝙣𝙙 fixed head capability, it gives us the flexibility to machine different types of work on the same machine, making production planning more efficient without compromising on accuracy.

That means we can respond to changing requirements more easily, keep lead times shorter and continue producing high-precision components with consistent results.

Safe to say it's a star performer on the shop floor!

Oldie but π™œπ™€π™‘π™™π™žπ™š, meet our Brown and Sharpe automatic screw machines.

We still run a few of these in the workshop and, despite their age, they're well suited to repeat turned parts, running batches of components throughout the day.

Most of the work through them is bushes, spacers, pins and studs, which leaves the CNC lathes free for more complex and urgent jobs, helping keep throughput balanced across the shop.

Every machine in the workshop has its place, and these Brown and Sharpe machines have held onto theirs for good reason. πŸ™Œ
