A bit different: my niece's Fiat 500 0.9 TwinAir came in non-running after a failed clutch & flywheel replacement that ended up causing the timing to jump; valves kissed the pistons (I don't know either 🙃)... what an odd engine setup this is, with hardly any info available for it, 2-cylinder turbo 🫤. After a little fettling around, I swapped the engine over from Euro 6 to a Euro 5 (yes, there were numerous differences), and she's good to go again. Got a 10mm spanner gift in the end; I mean, I deserve it for having to test-drive this around, given that it's plastered with girlie stickers....

Inferi black SEAT Leon K1 came in for a cusom welly intercooler, alu hard boost pipes, MoFab bayonet delete pipe all while retaining the fog lights. The car came in with sticking rear callipers which were replaced & upgraded to S3 callipers/discs. My favourite colour in these, pops nicely when the sun hits it.

Old school with a bit of a modern twist, a Ford Sapphire RS replica with a Fiesta 180 (JTJB) engine conversion came in for some custom aluminium hard boost pipes, while I was there I decided I couldn't let it leave without a custom intake too. Props to the owner for building this himself. Give the lads at Fiesta Centre a shout for your mk7/7.5 Fiesta needs.

VW Audi SEAT Skoda 2.0 TFSI EA113 Engine 'True' Balance Shaft Delete Oil Pump

NOTE: This is on a exchange basis, you will need to send me yours before I ship one out to you.

What is it?

Here we have a 2.0 TFSI EA113 'true' balance shaft delete. By completely machining and removing the balance shafts, the balance shaft weights and modifying the housing, bearing and oil holes are welded shut. The unit is cleaned prior to modifying and cleaned after to remove any debris. These balance shafts are machined, modified and welded up in-house by MoFab Developments. You will need to use your existing bolts, oil pickup, spacer plate and cogs.

How is this better than the other alternatives available?

This method of removing the balance shaft is the most effective; not only does it eliminate the prone-to-failure components, but it also allows the engine to rev noticeably more freely by shedding the excess weight and increases the overall engine oil capacity. Not only that, it also prevents oil pump failure by reducing the rotational stresses on the balance shaft mechanism. A must if you have tuned your car with this engine for a fast road track setup.

What cars does it fit?

This fits the Mk5 Golf GTI TFSI EA113 platform-based cars, Mk2 Leon FR, Mk2 Leon Cupra, Mk2 Leon Cupra R, Mk2 Leon K1, Mk2 Skoda Octavia VRS and the Mk2 Audi S3 or any other car that uses the same engine. BWA, BWJ, BHZ, AAX, CDL. Bolt your old one off and bolt this one on using your existing bolts and cogs.

Do we offer a fitting service?

Yes, we can fit these for you in our workshop based in Birmingham (B11) for an additional cost. We can also modify your existing unit, with a turnaround of 2-3 days on a bookings basis.

Are there any drawbacks to using this method instead of a freewheel?

There might be a chance you may experience ever-so-slight vibrations when in idle using this setup; some cars do experience this, others don't. We have fitted these to numerous cars, and the majority of them don't. Remember, you're removing the balance shafts

IMPORTANT NOTE: Ensure this is fitted by a qualified mechanic that specialises in these engines. This won't fix underlying issues with your engine that may have been caused by a failed oil pump, snapped oil pump cog, chain, oil pickup, oil rings, or cam follower; those issues need to be addressed thoroughly beforehand.
