Carburising Furnace Control Systems

Super Systems Europe has developed a standard cabinet for retrofit to pit furnaces, sealed quench furnaces, and continuous mesh belt and pusher furnaces. Our control systems have standard code and components and are customised per furnace specifications and customer requirements.

We have addressed almost every atmosphere application in heat treating with various control packages. The controls are designed to meet industry specifications such as AMS 2750, 2759, CE, NFPA. We build control panels that are efficient for operators to use, conserve floor space and include all drawing sets and installation services.

Fixed Three Gas (CO, CO2, CH4) Gas Analyser

SSi MGA6010

The MGA6010 Fixed Three Gas (CO, CO2, CH4) Gas Analyser is a feature rich permanently mounted continuous gas analyser for monitoring, recording, controlling, and/or alarming furnace gas atmospheres. Continuous monitoring of furnace atmospheres improves the repeatability of a process and creates predictive maintenance parameters such as alarming from deviating or increasing CO, CO2, and CH4 values.

This can provide advanced warning of furnace soot problems, radiant tube cracks, water or air leaks. It uses SSi’s infra-red 3 gas sensor and additional analogue inputs or communications to calculate CP%, Kn*, and Kc*. CQI- 9 compliant users can fulfil the daily generator and furnace atmosphere verification automatically in conjunction with the included PC software.

Note the MGA 6010 is now available in 19″ rack mounted housing.

Calibration Services

Super Systems Europe field engineers and workshop technicians are trained to deliver a wide range of UKAS traceable heat treatment calibration services in compliance with CQI-9 and AMS 2750 E.

Calibration, when built into a control plan that includes preventive, predictive, and planned maintenance, can play a valuable role in reducing unplanned downtime. Calibration improves process accuracy and identifies potential problems before they cause equipment or processing failures. It guarantees compliance to tough industry standards and provides documented quality assurance both internally and to all tiers of the manufacturing chain.

We have invested heavily in software, field and reference calibration equipment, and continuously developed quality controlled documentation and procedures in order to produce quick, reliable, and high value calibration and reporting services.

Our engineers are not simply calibration technicians. If a problem is diagnosed during calibration, we fix it.

Super Systems Europe - Remote support Contracts

Designed to give you rapid technical and process support with the flexibility you need to control your costs.

SSE R1 – 1 hour remote support per month. SSE engineers will use either telephone, WhatsApp group, remote PC access via TeamViewer to support your SSI equipment between 8am and 4pm Monday to Friday. Cover includes technical support, software/firmware upgrades on instrumentation, SCADA software and gas analysers, plus any process support required.

Payment must be made in full on receipt of the initial/renewal invoice for the full year.

R2, R3, R4 and R5 contracts are available. If any further hours are required in a particular month, they can be purchased at a discount to our normal hourly rate.

Upon initiation of the contract, a WhatsApp group will be set up to provide rapid communication with our technical team. We will notify you within that group when the monthly hours start being used.

These contracts are for remote support only. If any issue demands a visit from an SSE engineer, this is chargeable separately.

Heat Treatment Equipment Engineering and Project Services

Our capabilities include design, manufacture, test, certification, installation, commissioning, and training of standard and custom systems developed for new or existing heat treatment equipment.

The need to be versatile stems from the vast array of furnace designs around the world. One week we can be installing a control system on a new technologically advanced automatic vacuum furnace for a multi-billion $ automotive manufacturer, the next we can be retrofitting a gas cabinet to a pre-WWII rotary furnace for a chain manufacturer! The philosophy is the same: document everything, share everything.

Our Engineering Team uses cloud software and work to Gantt charts with carefully planned milestones. Each phase review includes document, drawing, and BOM sign-offs both internally and involving customers where agreed.

Electrical and 3D drawings are produced in-house using AutoCAD and SolidWorks.

Oxygen Probe Services
Our oxygen probe laboratory and workshop provides very quick and technically detailed services for SSi Gold Probes and all types and brands of zirconia oxygen probe.

Our automated test furnace (using the SSi 9205) is used to produce probe reports that gives every customer detailed information about their probe’s performance.

This capability means we can detail mV performance versus a reference sensor, impedance in kOhms, TC accuracy versus a reference TC, and leak integrity. All information is presented in a comprehensive standard Probe Report document that includes feedback and a recommended action.

Once a probe passes our tests, whether we’ve cleaned it or repaired it, we provide certification to meet industry standards or to a customer’s specification (for example, we can match, as closely as possible, the operating conditions of the furnace the senor will be installed in).

Please let us know before returning any product so that you can be given a RMA number.

Note: we offer a part exchange on non-SSi oxygen probes that fail our certification of £100/€130. Any number of probes can be sent in to us and multiple discounts can be set against the purchase of a single Gold Probe.
