Throwback Case Study – McDermott, Will and Emery.

This majestic leather-clad handle was made on behalf of , to welcome visitors to this prestigious London-based law firm. The new handle needed to perfectly match handles crafted previously, for the New York Offices. Harbrine and Instinct worked together to tally tubed leather with a perfectly fitted metal bar. We think you’ll agree that the end result was worth the effort.

Our hand-hammered handles look fantastic, whether they’re in stainless steel, brass, or matt black. Hand-hammering takes skill and effort, often requiring multiple hammer types to build the intricately layered surface. The surface must be struck with an even amount of force on each blow, to ensure consistent depth and spacing. Uneven blows can result in messy, irregular handles, patchy reflections and even distortion of the metal used.
