With various ranges of Lined and Un-Lined P-Clips, Tube Clips and Saddle Clamps held ex-stock. Full steam ahead for team BSL this morning!

There’s plenty going through the presses, with precision metal pressings, stampings and sub assemblies being produced for a range of industries.

With press capacity up to 160 tonnes and a wide range of materials running through the workshop, we can take on varied jobs, from high volume production to more specialist components, all made to individual specification. 👌

Hard to have the bank holiday blues when the first job back is a run of aluminium sheets on the G2-160. 🤩

As each sheet comes off the press, our operator gives it a quick check before moving on to the next one. Checking each part as it’s produced means any issues can be picked up early, keeping the batch consistent and making sure every sheet is within specification.

It only takes a few seconds, but checking each part as we go means we know the batch is coming off as it should.

The OCP-80 knows how to keep the week moving!

Stainless steel P clips are making their way through the press, with the OCP-80 carrying out the same pressing operation across the batch to keep each component consistent.

With 80 tonnes of pressing capacity and the ability to run continuous presswork, it’s well suited to getting through larger batches while keeping the same result across the run.

A great investment that keeps projects and quality uniform. 👏

First-off inspection is on the list before the next production runs get underway, using the probe to verify critical dimensions and confirm the first components are within specification.

Carrying out these checks before committing to a full production run helps us identify any dimensional variation early and maintain tighter process control throughout the batch.

Producing 48,748,252 components over three years takes more than just pressing metal!

It requires the press capacity, tooling, process control and production planning to maintain repeatability across millions of components.

With 32 power presses ranging from 6 to 160 tonnes, supported by air, hydraulic and hand presses, our press shop gives us the flexibility to accommodate different component specifications and production volumes, while maintaining consistent output at scale.

That capability has been built through more than 100 years of manufacturing experience, backed by continued investment in our machinery and processes.

Here, we're trimming each one to its finished length before moving on to stamping the oil level markings. Once that's done, they'll head through finishing and inspection.

Our view this Monday morning. 👌

It's been a busy start to the day, with the XYZ 500 LR machining the first batch of brass components while the team keeps a close eye on the first-off parts and production.

Once the job is up and running, multiple operations can be completed in the same setup, reducing handling between machines and helping maintain consistency across the batch.

It's all part of how we keep production efficient, helping reduce lead times and keep costs under control for our customers.

Another week at BSL done, and it’s been a busy one for P-clips. 😅

Over the past week, a mix of smaller orders and larger batches have been making their way through our Birmingham factory, with the presses running through a variety of requirements.

Seeing such a mix of orders come through shows why our P-clip website works well, giving customers a direct way to order what they need, whether that’s ten clips or ten thousand. Each batch then comes through production here in Birmingham, ready to be checked and sent out.
