In our latest blog post we look at one of the biggest misconceptions about digital signage... It is just a nicer-looking menu board?

Well, in reality, the value comes from being able to react in real time.

Promoting desserts during the evening rush. Switching to match-day content before kick-off. Highlighting cold drinks when the temperature suddenly hits 28ยฐC.

The venues getting the best return aren't using screens to display information. They're using them to influence purchasing decisions at exactly the right moment.

A static blackboard can't change price by the hour or promote tonight's fixture in real time. Here's how digital signage for hospitality venues earns its keep across pubs, bars and restaurants.

Lever Club runs three bars across one site, so management physically can't be everywhere at once. Card and mobile have taken over most spending, but there's still cash moving across the bar every night, and it's the payment type most exposed to miscounts and end-of-shift arguments. One camera pointed at the till turns half an hour of he-said-she-said into a five minute check of the footage. Most venues start there, plus entrances and wherever stock changes hands, then build out when budget allows.

Where's your blind spot? The cellar, car park or the till itself?

๐ŸŒž Beer gardens are having a moment this summer.

In our latest blog, we break down three fixes:

๐Ÿ’ณ Payments that move at beer garden speed, Dojo Go Max and Pay by QR
๐Ÿ“บ Digital signage that changes as fast as the forecast
๐Ÿ“น CCTV that gives you a live view of exactly how full your garden really is

Over a quarter of drinkers admit they've walked out of a bar because the queue was too long. Here's how self-service kiosks and ByTable mobile ordering, powered by ICRTouch, make sure that customer isn't yours.

Self-service kiosks and ByTable mobile ordering, powered by ICRTouch, keep a busy bar moving without losing customers to the queue.

746%.

That's how much pub and bar transactions jumped between 3am and 5am the night England beat Mexico to reach the World Cup quarter-finals.

It's not a one-off. The tournament has been one of the biggest trading periods UK hospitality has seen in years:

โœ… ยฃ4.2 billion projected boost to the UK food and drink sector this World Cup, up 9.3% on a typical year

โœ… 5.5 million extra pints sold during England's group stage alone

โœ… 77% uplift in draught sales on the night England played Ghana

โœ… 121% rise in transactions between 10pm and 1am during key fixtures, as late kick-offs push trade later into the night

England face Norway in the quarter-finals this Saturday, and the tournament runs all the way to the final on 19th July. That's still a fortnight of the busiest trading your venue will see all year, and it all comes down to whether your till, card machine and kitchen can keep up with the rush.

We've pulled the full data together, along with what it means for pubs, bars, restaurants and clubs gearing up for the business end of the tournament ๐Ÿ‘‰ https://www.ccrsystems.co.uk/blog/world-cup-2026-epos-ready-business-end-tournament

Your customers are already talking about World Cup 2026. Make sure your venue is part of the conversation.

When it comes to hospitality, atmosphere matters. From bars to quick-service restaurants across the North West and beyond, venues are already looking for ways to stand out during major sporting events.

Whether you're running themed promotions, creating buzz around tournament fixtures, or simply want your venue to feel like the place to be this summer, your EPOS system should work harder for you.

Let's talk about how World Cup ready your venue really is. Get in touch with the team on 0151 644 8296 or email us at [email protected]

Your card machine is losing you money.

Not because of the fees. Not because of the contract.

Because it is slow. Because the screen is hard to read in a dimly lit restaurant. Because your staff are apologising at the table while a queue builds behind them.

Payments are the last thing a guest experiences before they leave. That moment sticks.

The Dojo Go Max fixes it. Bigger screen, faster authorisation, built-in 4G so there are no dead zones, and a finish that actually looks at home on a quality bar or restaurant counter.

We are helping hospitality venues across the region get set up with it now.

If your current terminal is letting the side down, it might be time for a conversation.

Your EPOS system will not always give you a dramatic warning before it starts costing you money. It usually starts quietly: a card payment keyed in twice, a report checked manually, a price changed on one screen but not another, a staff member saying โ€œthe tillโ€™s doing that thing againโ€ while the queue gets longer.

With payment integrations changing, contactless habits shifting and older systems becoming harder to support, May 2026 is a good time to review your setup before you are forced into a rushed decision.

May 2026 EPOS issues explained. Learn how payment changes, security risks and outdated till systems could affect your business.
