Photos from one of our recently completed projects that consisted of the structural design and detailing for an extension to replace an existing extension, internal alterations to the original Manor House, demolition of a modern link building, and new ancillary building.

The property is a Grade II listed 17th Century Manor House on a Scheduled Ancient Monument in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. This provided many challenges in the design and build process.

The extension comprised a timber frame superstructure with oak glulam frames supporting a thin roof that cantilevered over the glulam’s and a glazed façade. The timber frame was designed inhouse with Engineered I-Joists stud external walls clad with natural stone masonry, and softwood loadbearing internal partitions. The glazed link to the Manor House was formed with a sleek steel frame. All this was constructed on a reinforced concrete raft slab foundation.

One of our recently completed projects in Warwickshire working alongside Charlie Luxton Design.

Alterations and extension of a Grade II listed Manor House on a Scheduled Ancient Monument. This project presented a number of challenges structurally not just in altering the Manor House internally but the extension as well.
